New battery may be needed - questions

Just checked the standing and running battery voltages. Both are lower than I would like to see. A new battery may be needed soon. Two questions:
1) Which make and spec should I look for? Members experiences, and recommendations please.
2) Is it easy to change the battery DIY, or are there problems with resetting the car afterwards?
Car is as described in signature.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Do you have eco stop/start (I don't know if this is on diesels)? My eco s/s refused to operate and this was eventually identified as weak battery. However, there were no other symptoms - cold starts, heated seat etc all worked fine.

Yep, mine is also going in this coming week for a new Stop Start battery.
This is a different battery to the main battery.
The stop start battery is under the wiper scuttle plate and is really small. Similar to a motorcycle battery.

Failed on my last 2016 A200d as well.

Same situation and resolution for me a year ago.
The smaller battery is to allow auto cars transmission to still be shifted into neutral and potentially run other systems when the engine is stopped under S/S as far as I know.

This year my stop start has stopped working again.
I think it’s purely the way that the car has been designed coupled with the way I use it.
Apparently it’s normal for S/S cars with AGM batteries to not often be at 100% charge and in my case it seems even 80% charge, especially in winter. Below 80% is when S/S stops working on mine I believe.

I’ve bought a charger and have used it twice so far, second time being yesterday.
After this my S/S begins working again.

Car is out of warranty this year and I don’t want to be buying new batteries every year or two.

Hi
Hoping one of you guys can help me...

Mercedes Benz A Class A220 D Motorsport Ed Prem A Automatic

My son's car needs a new battery, he's currently at sea and his girlfriend hasn't been starting the car. Seems there are various batteries for this model when I search his reg, so my question to you good people is:

What battery would I need?
Any spec tools?
Location of battery, (so I can get his girlfriend to take a pic)

I have to travel the 250 miles on a Sunday so hoping to have the correct battery/ tools to get it running before his return.

Thanks in advance for any information, You Tube only seems good for the C Class....

Regards
Garry

Hi. I have a 176 2016 A 200 DI that I purchased from new, but now the battery is feeling its age on cold mornings so I have decided to replace it. Checking the battery connections the earth is the standard round peg but the positive is a flat steel bar protruding up from the battery, is this a special battery that's only available from Mercedes Dealers?

Happy New Year to you all.
