Take it back to MB. The oil change makes a difference.
What exactly do you mean?

He’s already had the oil changed in the rear diff, hence asking if anyone has heard the noise return post oil change.

I clearly failed to read some parts of it.

Are you mis-reading the posts again?!

Yes tech giant, forget his user name, took it back. It was either adding oil or changing it solved the issue.

The oil seems to be critical to the operation of the diff hence any subsequent noises I would take it back.

Yes I agree it should be taken back.

However it appears that you didn’t fully properly read the previous post and completely missed that the poster only had a rear diff oil change 1500 miles ago, of which we covered in nauseating detail in this very thread, because of the lack of detail on the invoice!

This is the second time you’ve misread this poor posters posts, he might be getting a complex that you’ve singled him out (on the first occasion, accusing him of editing his post!!!) :p

I know and I am sure @Griff is the first A45s driver who drives like a granny. But driving style will be a factor.

You should really read people’s posts carefully, before jumping in with a hasty response!!!!!

I've only done about 1500 miles in that time and none of it has been especially spirited.
Spirited or not, it sounds like an “oil change” is not going to be the solution for that particular diff.

😂 touché!

My money is on that flex plate being worn, but having already caused stress on other components within the diff hence the persistent noise :)
The booking I alluded to in Feb is for the flex plate recall so we'll see what transpires.

Thanks for clearing up the confusion in the previous exchanges. I am neurodivergent so I do question if I'm making sense when I post but you seem to understand my posts so all is good 👍

We’ll look forward to hearing the outcome and wonder when my flex plate work will come up.
