Does anyone else have this functionality on their keys, with the keyless go system. I've noticed that my keys go into a sleep mode and I have to shake them to wake up, in order to lock/unlock. Maybe Mercedes introduced this to combat the keys remaining live and being scanned by thieves with their special devices.

Yep, mine does exactly the same. I think after two minutes of the key not moving, it goes to sleep.

Can you not spec Keyless go?

Hello all, I was wondering, do you have to spec Keyless go? I am purchasing a car quite soon and concerned with security of the keyless go system. Yes, I know about the pouches but if my car is being built soon is it possible to ask for keyless go to be not put in? It looks like it's mandatory...

Plus, I keep my key and wife's BMW key in a Faraday pouch as soon as we go into the house. (spare keys are also in a pouch)

That’s correct, yes 👍

It’s best to double click the remote to lock when parking at the long stay airport car park.

In addition to disabling the keyless entry system, it also reduces the battery drain on the car.

With the car locked, press lock button on key fob 4 times. This turns off keyless ( opening with hand on handle) You need to press the open button on the key fob and it then goes back to just touching handle to open and sliding hand over handle to lock. Then double click the lock button on key...
