I've had my 69 plate A Class since September 2019 and am only just getting round to changing to my private plates.
I have the plates ready, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the plates off!

I can unscrew the screws under the caps, however the black border around both the front and back makes it difficult for me to continue removing them from this point.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated...

I think that you'll find the numbers plates are also attached with double sided 3M tape to the black coloured surround, mine were & with a sharp pull they came off

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your reply. I’ve just been back out to it, and they still wouldn’t budge. I’ve got a ruler underneath and it just won’t give any way for me to fit my fingers or anything underneath it to pull.

Try dental floss with a slicing action. It should cut through the foam between the sticky tape.

Mines were just screwed on.. stuck my new private plates on with Gorilla double sided mounting tape
