Hi guys,just a quick question,this might sound daft but does pressing the exhaust button make it louder or quieter.doesnt seem to make much difference to me.(45 amg)

My button’s effect was most apparent when travelling say at 50mph, accelerating with and without the button pressed.

Mine was pre-fl and it had to be in S for the best exhaust sound. I'm guessing it's the same for yours as well as pressing the exhaust sound button.

This has been posted on Facebook. The guy said it has come from the Mercedes workshop manual. I thought our cars didn't have the fake noise pumped into the cabin. I'm going to have a good look under the car next week to see if I can find this

Mines face lift,thought the question was quite straightforward, red light exhaust on,or off.?

Red light is on as with every other A45 button which goes red.

Exhaust button is only for more noise in the cabin. It does not make the actual exhaust any louder. So if the button is on (red light burning) the sound in the cabin will get louder. To test this, go on a highway & floor it. While flooring it switch on and off the button and you’ll hear the difference in the cabin.

This is exactly what that button does.
