My A200d has just started Just randomly popping open when it feels like it
car is out of warranty and local dealer wants £120 just to run a diagnostics before contacting Mercedes to see if they will fix it under good will.

I know the part number, so I have ordered the part.

My question is, how easy is this to change and is it a straight swap without having to programme / reset it at dealers ?
And does anyone have a little how to on how to change it ?

thanks.

As it turns out, it is a 5 minute job to do.

Part No. A0038203297

Decided to knock this little how to together incase someone decides to do their own fix instead of getting robbed by mercedes dealers.

1. Open fuel flap.
2. Using a small flat head screwdriver, prize up the 2 little tabs that are at the bottom so they will clear the little lip.
3. Using a small flat headed screw driver, prize to the bottom side of the solenoid unit so the the 2 tabs that you previously prized up clear the lip at the bottom, so the solenoid unit will then pop out.
4. Pull solenoid unit out enough to reveal cable and plug.
5. Remove plug and be careful the cable and plug don't slip back in to the solenoid housing.
6 Throw old solenoid unit in the bin.
7 Connect plug onto new solenoid unit and ensure it's snug (clicked into place)
8. insert solenoid unit into its location on a slight angle so the top goes in first.
9 Once solenoid is in place, push the bottom of the solenoid so the 2 little tabs at the bottom click into place behind the little lip.
10. Close the fuel flap and enjoy.
