There is an option in the settings of the interface to set RHD 😁

I was referring to the location of the physical connections.
But, I wonder what system settings would be different? Maybe the orientation of the info within the display?

Oh! The connections of the head unit will be the same for RHD.

The system settings will be the orientation/info of the display. CarPlay has its bar with last opened apps to the right for RHD and to the left for LHD. That setting basically tells it to display it to the right or left.

I’ve heard the rumours said that the navigation button on the steering wheel does not work, could you test it out?

As well as the screen would black out quite often when switching between MBUX and the CarPlay, is that true?

Oh yeah, that is correct. The black square touch button on the steering wheel does not work within the interface. But does work normally in MBUX. All the other buttons do work.

When you switch between MBUX and CarPlay, it’s like you’re swapping the HDMI on a TV. It goes black for 1 second and then pops up the other screen.

I’ve just been reading through the info and it says phone calling doesn’t work with NTG 6. What’s your experience of that? Also, what’s it like switching between CarPlay and MBUX? Is it possible to have MBUX DAB radio audio whilst using CarPlay maps?

Just tested. When listening to radio, all audio from CarPlay is muted. This is mainly due to MBUX making the audio source radio instead of USB or Bluetooth.

But using TuneIn is a good workaround for that

Where are you going to order it from? I can’t get it to ship from Ali express to the UK. Im waiting for the vendor to tell me who their UK partner is.

Weird that they don’t ship to the UK but do ship to the Netherlands and other EU countries. The parcel doesn’t come from an EU warehouse and comes directly from China.

I’m sure the seller will be able to sort something out for you! 😁

They have a local partner in the UK. I suspect this is brexit related in some way, at least, I’m blaming brexit.

So, the connections are still above the left footwell in a RHD vehicle, under the glove box instead of the steering wheel?

This is the complete installation. It's mostly how to connect everything but I did end up putting the interface in the center console instead of underneath the steering wheel as there is plenty of space in the center console (beneath the storage compartment in the front).

I’m unsure. You’d have to check as my car is LHD. I thought you asked about the connector heads.

Can be done by a beginner (that’s what I am) just take your time and don’t be hasty.

Hi! I asked the seller to provide me with an update so it would change the CarPlay logo (within CarPlay) to the official Mercedes logo instead of their logo. He provided me with an updated firmware file for that, which I can also share if requested.

The seller is the manufacturer, so you can always ask them for updates.

And I’m still very happy with it. It connects reliably, every single time. And it all goes automatically.

i believe the software update cant fix the problem with rhe black button on the steering wheel, right?

I updated the module with a USB.

The update file indeed does not fix the black steering wheel touch square.
