If you scroll back through the threads you will see that I and several others after me have installed this interface :)
It was my understanding that you were having several problems with yours, like Farenheid mentioned, but if not, amazing!

How's the resolution of CarPlay compared with the mercedes original one?

Any problems like sound stop playing or reverse camera? Or basically all working?

I would like to keep using my burmester as is superior to the audio via CarPlay, wired at least.

Let me know your impressions, thanks!

Oh nice! My bad, I didnt understand the initial comment correctly then. So touchpad works for selecting between the apps, swiping between screen (Split screen/fullscreen), For spotify and selecting songs..everything? Thats perfect!

Maybe since I just went through the entire comment section now, since like the 2019 of posts and you have the greatest experience with the unit. Is there any video from your end on the functionalities? I might have missed it maybe thats why I am asking.

How fast it takes to load, how the load screen looks like (you mentioned update of logo they provided you with), reverse camera etc? I know that it would require to have two phones I guess but I think it would be the greatest way to look into the smoothness of it and all the working/not working funcionalities.

If I do not forget I'll take a video for you. It loads within 10-20 seconds. Most of the times it loads before I even get into the car as I always carry a water bottle with me. So when I open the door and put my water bottle in the door (big bottle that doesn't fit in the cupholder space) the interface is already connecting to my device.

Other than that the CarPlay is quite smooth. Not 60fps wirelessly, but definitely not a lag fest (it's much faster than the stock CarPlay. Even faster than the CarPlay on the facelift model, that says enough).

Amazing Exorth! Looking forward to see in action :D

I'm very temped to install on my car! Do you have Burmester? Your audio is going via bluetooth through mercedes or CarPlay? do you notice sound difference?

Thank you!!

Hi! I do not have the Burmester but I do have the advanced sound system. I play the sound wirelessly through CarPlay to the aux/usb c converter.

Sound quality is slightly worse with wireless CarPlay compared to wired CarPlay. Doesn’t bother me too much. You can also setup an automation on your phone to automatically output audio through the Mercedes-Benz Bluetooth connection.

Only downside is that Siri and turn by turn navigation (Apple Maps) audio will not work if you route the audio through MB Bluetooth. As iPhones always route that audio through CarPlay.

Google Maps has a workaround so it does work.

Hi again. Yes that would be highly appreciated to see it in action 😊 To see how the steering controls work, touchpad, the feeling of a little bit lower fps, start time, changing between MBUX and carplay, behaviour in reverse. Basically all of the stuff that everybody was asking throughout this thread but actually nobody ever seen in action. Thanks in advance for that if you will time to record it by any chance.

I have tried to record it connecting to my phone. But once it makes the connection the camera app stops recording. When trying to record a video whilst simultaneously being wirelessly connected to CarPlay and swiping through the homescreen / opening apps it starts stuttering and lagging (I have an iPhone 12 Pro) which doesn't show the actual performance/smoothness of the UI/interface since my phone reallocates it's processing power to the camera app.

I'm going to try and see if filming it through a third party app like instagram or whatsapp will yield better results. I only tried the main camera app and it was set to 4K 60fps so that might also not have helped.

I unfortunately do not have a second phone to record with.

Hey everyone, I picked up a 2023 GLA 200 from the dealer last week, its a non-facelift one. It does have built in carplay but I was disappointed to see it isn’t fulscreen and it looks very cheaply implemented. I was looking for a solution to possibly make the carplay fullscreen. I actually prefer the wired carplay over wireless carplay so I was wondering if I could somehow change the original wired carplay of the car to fullscreen. If not, is my only option ksmart? I really don’t know if its worth paying 400 and adding some chinese stuff to my brand new car just for fullscreen carplay. Thanks.

Sadly if it’s pre facelift, you won’t be able to get full screen CarPlay - without some sort of aftermarket conversion.

Can I install the ksmart unit like a plug and play solution if I decide to use only MBUX Bluetooth for audio? If I didn’t misunderstand anything so far from this thread, that is possible. I really don’t want to touch a screwdriver.

i have ksmart.... i have solution, which working fine. MBUX -> calling ( in bluetooth setting only calling), song over ksmart unit, wireless of course wireless charger... because when i calling over ksmart i have big echo. when you will install, you will not need screwdriver

hello to all

sooo... after reading 9 pages... kSmart for android auto is the best option ?

i'm will not pay 300€ to have "half" screen....

we pay for a star... we get less then a fiat have from factory....

We all signed this petition a long time ago and Mercedes will never look at it, they have an official solution now: buy the facelift model.
I've an "insider" in MB Portugal, who told me that MB decided to ignore this "small issue" (they're words) in order to allocate all resources in the new mbux etc etc

so... they will not, almost for sure, fix this..

this weekend i will order the box

It is all bs as after the FUP3 update which changes the system to apilevel/ntg6/081 - there is a change to allow Baidu Carlife in China regions to use the whole resolution from using 1280x720 resolution to the custom 1600 x 600.

They even sell adapters around 400CNY to convert Baidu Carlife to Apple Carplay keeping full-screen conversion as well on the native system. I have tried to enable CarLife capable on HU6 System Activation - the menu option doesn't even appear in licenses after coding.

I have tried many different coding options in DTS but it is based on the same system activation as AA/Carplay so requires Device Key to provided by MB to be manually activated or for MB to remotely activate with certificates. Someone probably knows the device key generation algorithm...

I wonder if asking MB if I purchased the smartphone integration package, surely I should be able to have Carlife as well. I did try the Carlife app on my iPhone and the car doesn't detect this mode.

I did try changing remote ui parameters in HU6 to China but the car fails to accept the coding with an NRC22 error - there's also a parameter for TEST_CARPLAY but unsure if this is just a pre-development feature of maybe the Carplay navigation/media feature transfer to IC cluster or if this is a widescreen mode in some beta.

already order a KSmart, if MB wanted to fix it, they already had fixed... and, as i've read, the mbux AA is laggy and no wireless connection, only usb C.. sooooo... naaaaaaaaa
really bad "comercial choice" (aka "money maker") from MB

Installed carlinklife (it’s actually a ksmart unit) today in my Mercedes EQC. Everything works great.

Only slight downside is you cannot see the adjustment of climate controls on the screen when in CarPlay mode. Other than that everything working as expected. Fast shipping to the UK in less than 7 days from order.

One question is does anyone know how to move the CarPlay menu to the right hand side for RHD cars? Can’t see anything in the settings to adjust it.

EDIT: RHD can be enabled inside advanced settings within factory mode. Air conditioning display can also be enabled there as well. Only one thing missing now is volume display when changing.

Can you link me the unit you purchased? Was it easy to install?

When you say move the CarPlay menu to the RHD side, do you mean move CarPlay to the right screen where the driving dials are? Didn't know that was possible.
