Hardwired Dash Cam shuts off after 50 minutes

Or, put it this way, if I went downstairs now and turned the car on without starting the ignition (so just the electricals light up), and then turned it off again straight away... I would get another 50 minutes of parking mode afterwards. But it's also entirely impractical to have to go outside once every 50 minutes just to do this.
From what you have described the DR900X may have been connected to a 'switched' live feed and it has a 50 minutes timeout, if so each time you switch on the ignition the DR900X is powered back on and restarts the cycle. Another possibility is that if it has been correctly fitted to a permanent live feed it is seeing a voltage drop when the engine is switched off to the point where it needs to switch itself off, but it might have a 50 minute inbuilt delay. This is quite possible as the so called smart charging on these cars does sometimes leave them at a much lower voltage than might be expected, this has been reported by a number of people. You can get a bit of an idea if this is the case by looking at the on dash voltage when you switch the ignition on, if its below 12.5 volts this might be about where the DR900X switches off.
