How to put the car in neutral with dead battery?

Hi everyone, how do you put the automatic car with the dead battery? I've seen the videos how to put the older Mercedes cars in neutral, the ones that have gear selector on the bottom where the gear box tunnel is but I can't find the one that has it on the steering wheel.

I'm asking if I'm stuck on the road somewhere and I have to move the car straight away and I don't have someone with the jumper cables to start the car. I asked the mercedes dealership but of course they are just so stupid to know the answer (sales guys). They said they will call me back but of course they never did.

If you have no power at all then I don't know the answer, unless it's programmed to go to neutral by default. But if you have some power, but not enough to start the engine, pressing the end button on the stalk should work.

This is why you have an auxiliary battery. To give power to get in the car and put the transmission into N

If you have zero power, the car will have to be lifted and recovered.

Just be thankful you don’t have a Porsche with a dead battery.....

You can’t even open the compartments without power - so you have to apply external 12V to the fuse box!
