Headlight Misting - Believe it or not it's meant to happen to an extent, some MB lamps are now an open ventilation system (other manufactures too) they say the headlight is not sealed due to it being LED, I think they say after 10 minutes of driving it should have gone.

However ;)

There is a MB modification for this to help stop it, you replace the back of the headlight covers with a modified one that has a desiccant pack built in.

Boot Latch Area - Filling with water..... I will check mine when we get some rain which surely wont be too long but I'm fairly confident it doesn't or I would have noticed it before.

Fitted new wiper arms this afternoon but I cannot get them to sit as flush like the old ones

this is the part number i was given by Mercedes

MA176 820 35 00
MA176 820 37 00

They used to sit like this:

The drivers is fine but the passenger certainly is too high, I don’t it’s down to fitting as you can only fit them one way by the look at it

I have sent an email to the dealership to see if the part numbers / parts they have supplied me are correct ( I stupidly binned the old ones before I could check them - stupid me )

Any advice?

Thanks

If it becomes a pain in the backside I’ll just speak to my local dealer about these, any ideas how much ?

Thanks

Update on this, I spoke to parts and they are 100% sure these are the correct wiper arms for car.

They also spoke to a tech who said the arms are on splines which can be adjusted but the passenger side has 2 splines 1 of which isn’t adjustable from what I can work out due to the way it’s designed ( elongated oval spline ) that the arm will only fit 1 way which then by the look of it dictates the normal spline arm even through that can be adjusted

I just don’t get it

Has anyone else changed there wiper arms ?

Thanks

Stu

Got any photos of the splines on the inside of the arm and the wiper linkage?

I'd be interested to see how the headlight modification works out. Although I don't notice my misting up affecting the brightness of my headlights.

Mercedes Day

damaged interior trim has been replaced with new - Thanks Mercedes

They also looked at the height of the passenger wiper and adjusted it BUT now it sits on the scuttle FFS

I presume that will damage the scuttle over time
I would probably bite the bullet go back to MB wipers if that solves the problem. Sorry you’re the guinea pig but it’s useful for the rest of us to see this.

They are Mercedes wiper arms but Bosch blades which fitted fine with the older arms

They are M-B OE Wiper Arms!! 🙈

That’s the part that is causing the issue, not the blades!!

I thought he explained it all very well in the thread above!
I was referring to the blades. I know Bosch blades should be the same as MB’s.

The blades are the same from before the arms were changed!

The blades are not the issue!
Yes and if the arms are correct the blades are the only non MB part. I get that they fitted fine with the previous arms. Otherwise we will just have to live with it.

No, we will not just have to live with it!

You certainly wouldn’t put up with the wipers hitting part of the trim with a ‘thump’ everytime the wipers did a sweep!

It’s incorrect alignments somewhere and it can be rectified.

We’ve spent the best part of 10 years + on this very forum recommending that people swap from M-B blades to Bosch Aerotwin, and not one single post about incompatibility - so let’s not start suggesting that now!

This is not helping the OP on his build thread.

OP - I believe this is an alignment issue on the splines, but if that’s correct that the issue is deeper under the scuttle - the mounting bolts of the mechanism may have moved hence the discrepancy in position from what it’s supposed to be.

or

If you compare the new arms with the old - do they look identical (all the angles etc) - or does it look like there may have been a revision/change?
