Is the A250e the right car for me?

Hi all,

Seriously considering the A250e. Currently have the W176 (AMG line 62 plate). Had my fair share of annoying issues with it, including the substantial leak, but the interior is really me in towards getting a new A-class.

I've read mixed reviews regarding the mpg and was wondering if anyone has a similar journey to me for work. My drive is approxiamtely 22 miles to work, so theoretically I could get there and back on full electric range, or at least there or there abouts. The majority of the drive is either 40mph or 50mph. What type of mpg should I expect? Mercedes suggest 256.8mpg, would it be anything like that on full electric, or even anywhere near 200mpg?

My current A200D is giving me roughly 60mpg, which I think is pretty nice. I am wondering if I may be better looking at a diesel model?

It does help that I already have a charger at home due to a previous car!

I’ve had one for over a year now and approx 80% of my driving is on electric. According to my car stats I’m getting 98 mpg and about 30-35 miles on a charge but I have my aircon on all the time and I don’t try to maximise my range. Those figures are based on the last 1100 since reset. One trick I use is to enter destination on sat nav even when I know where I’m going and the car computer looks at your route and automatically selects when to use electric and when to use ice definitely increases range. i have had in excess of 250 mpg on some journey. Hope this helps.
I love the car it’s great to drive and so comfortable. Only issue is it can bo prone to plastic rattle in cabin over rough surfaces.
