I've put all the 14.1 map updates on a memory stick, I just wondered how long the car takes to do the updates and does the ignition need to be on the whole time or will it stop & start as you use the car until they are all loaded?

It will pause and resume as you park or use the car.

Thanks @veeeight , I just found this out myself whilst sitting in Sainsbury's carpark. If you go to Settings Software update you can see how far the update has progressed. Mine was on 65% when I found this 🙄 then it suddenly jumped to Finished.

Just for interest I plugged in a second usb with the maps on and although the car still showed my music on my first usb the Personal POIs were missing until I pulled the second usb

I got the email and downloaded the maps I wanted (UK, France, Germany & a few other western European ones). Went through the update no problem but Mercedes Me still says UK needs to be updated and the 'about' still has the old 2019 map as installed. I downloaded just the UK again, put it on an empty usb stick, but it won't install, it reports that a newer version of the map is already installed. How do I get it to install the latest UK map?

Are your UK maps being updated automatically? If so it could be that the process has started but not finished

I believe that on occasion it can get into a bit of a mucking fuddle with this, the download has started so the car thinks it has it but it hasn't been installed so you can't see it. But perhaps someone else could confirm if this is true or just a figment of my imagination 🤣

My UK 330 map OTA eventually arrived and installed itself without issue so I decided to update the Voice recognition software as this doesn't update automatically. All went well, MBUX recognised the file on my USB and installed it so all was well, or I thought so until the next time I drove the car. The satnav fired up OK but then a screen came up saying the maps were not compatible with something or other. Tried switching the car off, leaving it for half and hour etc but no change, I though about reinstalling the UK maps but you cant do that because they are up to date so thought I was off to the dealers AGAIN. As I was completely out of ideas I installed the smallest map update I could fined (Cyprus) and to my surprise its all working again, for now at least
