Hi. This month, I'm planning to purchase a 2019 Mercedes A200 W177 from a friend. She has owned this vehicle since 2019 and is a notoriously non-technical individual. As a result, she has never connected to Mercedes Me or conducted a software update to her knowledge. The car was imported from Sweden to the Netherlands at the time with 3000 kilometers on the clock. I drove the car myself and noted that there is no internet activity (which means I am unable to use the apps). Additionally, when I ask Hey Mercedes, how is the weather at x location, I receive no response due to the lack of an internet connection.

How can I connect the car to the internet and receive OTA software updates? By the way, she has her Mercedes serviced at the Mercedes dealer. As a result, I'm unsure whether the dealer upgrades her software on a regular basis.

What are your recommendations in this regard?

I think that you must register your car first to Mercedes. Go to the dealer to register the car and open you the account.
