I have never seen the red number on my iOS MMe app.

But when I go into the app, I do have a red dot by the bell symbol, which are notifications.

 

I've not seen a bell on my Android app, which maybe because I've not had any notifications or messages in the Inbox since I installed the app.

 

No messages in the inbox or notifications accessed by that top right corner since I've had MMe installed. There have been notifications about updates but they have been on the main screen between 'Mercedes me' and the model designation, pushing the latter down.

However today the count on the icon it has reduced from '8' to '1'.

 

Is this the count even after you touch "more". If so, is it because you haven't renewed.

I swipe up and down to read all the entries on the 'Over-the-air vehicle updates' page, and that hasn't altered the count on the icon.

My app icons options are different as attached, lock status is by the reg no (which is where yours might be as well) along with parking brake status. BTW, the three views of the car have come back today!

Yes. But I think either the previous owner hasn’t deleted themselves or they have expired. As they do after three years and need renewing.

How would I know that? How would that affect the changing count on the Android icon?

Just logged in and it shows my details.

 

Maybe there is an update for android too that might address the problem.

There isn't a 'problem' as such, I was just enquiring as to the significance of the slowly increasing number in the red circle on the Android icon. See #7.

It's become apparent that either no one else gets it or no one knows what it means.

 

Yes, I understand that. But can you answer yes or no about having a subscription please.

 

Like I said I created the account when I got the car but only installed the app on a new phone in the last month. I can log on in a browser and see all the information I entered when creating the account. Is that what you mean by having a 'subscription'? I've not taken any paid-for options, if that is what you mean.

 

Anyone with an MB can have an account and download the app.

It's now clear. You need to have paid to use more than the basic app functions. I would therefore ignore messaging relating to the app as it will not work properly until you pay a subscription to activate all its features.

 

I don't see how that relates to my original question, no one has yet said what that number in the Android icon indicates. Despite not having paid for any extras my app seems to be picking that up from somewhere and displaying it. All I'm asking is what does it mean.

 

Perhaps someone with an android phone can explain to you better. But as far as I can tell they are notifications. Relating to apps options that work and ones which don’t. I would also recommend contacting MB to them.

 

Maybe I'm the only Android user ... or the only one that has noticed ... and has wondered.

 

Hi, I’m new here so be kind. Has anyone managed to get the “Me” widgets to show up on an iPhone. I get them on my iPad for some weird reason.

Do you mean the Me showing your car? If so it just appears automatically. As in my post number 15 on here.

 

I have this widget on my iPad which I think is a bit pointless, but don’t get it on the phone 🤷🏻🤷🏻
