Hi, Just picked up my new A250 and sporadically a small blue P appears in the dash - lower left side. Sometimes with with arrows one way or the other. I have no idea and the manual is not helpful. Any ideas?
The P in the display is the Active Parking Assist (I have this from the car manual) It scans for available parking places using the parking sensors and is activated when moving forward at speeds of below 35 km/h. It locates and measures parallel and perpendicular parking spaces around the car. The arrow shows where it has found spaces. Once it’s found a space, you can then “auto park”.
It has nothing to do with Mercedes Me as far as I can tell. But the satnav does have the option to find available spaces in car parks, which I haven’t been able to use so far.
Yes, there are also plenty of P’s in the navigation screen, which does show you parking spaces and will (hopefully/possibly) show where available spaces are. However, the OP asked what the P with arrows meant in the driver screen. This is to show where the car has found spaces to park in. It has nothing to do with available spaces, how could it from just a left or right arrow??
