Racechip, DTUK, TDI, Tuning Boxes etc.

I bought a TDI tuning box last year, when it worked it was a noticeable difference although I had numerous problems. EML came on intermittently and on occasion the car would lose power, can only describe it like limp mode although no warnings on the dash. I would put the pedal right to the floor and the car very slowly accelerated. The guys at TDI we’re brilliant and reprogrammed the box, sent new maps for me to upload myself and even designed a new wiring loom to try, but unfortunately the problem was not rectified. After several months of perseverance I was offered a full refund so sent the box back.

Shame it didn’t work out for you, but at least choosing a reputable company in the first place meant that you got great customer service.

Evening gents. I finally took the plunge and bought a racechip gts black for my a35. My mate got one on his bmw and had only good words so I just did it. Should be arriving next week and I will update here with feedback if wanted. Has anyone here done anything similar?
Ive also been running a TDI tuning box for almost a year now, no issues with mine and makes a noticeable difference. Be interesting to hear your thoughts on the racechip. You got anyway of measuring the performance, dragy etc? Could compare results with mine then to see which is better?

I've been playing around with a DTUK tuning box on A35 - as timed by a pBox.
Day to day drivability and throttle response - I've found the best setting to be Map3 +2
Balls out 0-60 seems to be best on Map2 +2
Day to day mid range torque is much improved with the box.

With the DTUK tuning box, in 1ft rollout mode (so equivalent timing at a drag strip) 0-60 is 4.164 seconds.
Add another 0.2 secs if you want it without the 1ft rollout, and you'll be in the right ballpark.
The car is still fairly new and tight, only 2k miles on it.

There's a report of an A35 achieving 0-60 in 3.9.
Tuning Boxes - Mercedes A35 AMG 306PS 0-60 in 3.9 seconds - DTUK Performance

Anyone else got any pbox or Dragy numbers to share?
@Kirk_88 how are you getting on with yours?
Pretty pleased with mine. No issues.
Not done any more times recently but my verified dragy 0-60 times were 4.42 stock and 4.09 with box, both without 1ft roll out.

JB4 now available.
