Can you post a photo? Thanx
i dont know if rattles come from the same place in all the cars. What causes it is loose plastic fittings (they are clipped on), you have to locate the exact location of the rattle ( in my case it is the bottom of the drivers screen frame). I heard some dealers dismount it and put glue to hold the plastic some put felt tape, others do nothing at all.

Hi, I have just recently purchase a 2018 A 200 Sport and i love it.
My query is i have a rattle from the headlight switch assembly and
also the rear tailgate rattles when closing and also when on the move.
I have had the headlight switch of and checked if anything was loose,
but all seems fine...any ideas? and the tailgate i have put a couple of
felt sticky pads on latch which makes it close without a rattle, but can
still hear movement, road noise, especially on rough tarmac.
ps i even tried it with number plate and holder off and it did the same.
Any ideas?

My headlight switch cluster is also noisy. Got a little squeak every now and then. I believe the rattle on the back maybe down to the number plate holder. Not looked at mine yet but I have read about people taking out of the holder.

Hi, 2019 180d
after picking up last year i had a rattle from the rear traced it to the near side rear seat back latch, jammed a bit of plastic webbing in between the latch mech this cured it completely, recently I removed the webbing from the seat latch, in now appears now to have settled in and now no longer rattles!

I got rattle from right back side. My friend told me when he sat over there that it could come from speaker ( got Burmester ).
Other rattles are from right side of passenger door, AC control panel ( stops when im pushing it little up )

I have a slight rattle when doing almost full lock left or right on very low speed: when i maneuver in car park lets say. Its coming somewhere from front suspension. Dont know if its the same with your issue?... my car is at dealer right now, to fix other issue, but i’ve asked them to check this issue too..

I've always had a few rattles creaks and groans from somewhere at the back of my A250, the dealer has looked at it three times and given it back saying its all fixed but it never has been. During the hot weather it was not too bad but they returned again as the temperatures dropped, anyhow yesterday I thought I will see what I could do to reduce them.

I had read a couple of things on other threads that I thought I would give a try, one suggested using silicone grease around the rubber door seals, I didn't have any of that to hand but I did have some stuff that's for conditioning rubber seals, its probably snake oil but I've used it for years on my soft top to good effect so used that.

Another thread suggested aligning the rear doors if they were not 100% true, so I did that as well, both really easy and only took half an hour or so.

Took it out for a test drive and I was very impressed with the improvement, however, there was still some rattling from the parcel shelf area, I could see it moving in time with the rattle. Checking it out I was surprised to find just how boomy it is, most others I have had give a dead sound when you knock them but this some sort of booms. I was thinking of what I could stick to the bottom of it to deaden it a bit when I noticed that the two rubber pads on the back of the shelf did not touch the hatch at all, there was something like a 5mm gap which allowed the shelf to bounce up and down as you drive over bumps. I didn't have much to hand to resolve this so I just folded some kitchen towel until it was a sung fit and hey presto an almost rattle free car.

The last job is to adjust the hatch latch so that it is a snugger fit and find something to replace the kitchen towel but that will have to wait until I have a larger Torx bit to take one of the panels off.

Sadly I didn't do these things in order and test in-between so I can't say which had the most effect and I don't know how long lasting these cures will be but hey they have been more effecting than the dealers cures so far :)

Yep, got to say, whoever suggested the cure for rear door seals creaking is an automotive genius :p

If anyone else has creaks coming from door seals, here’s the relevant post/thread.(y)

Well done on hunting down your other rattles creaks and squeaks. (y)

Mercedes should be giving you a job! well done that man!!
