Further to @veeeight rules based post. I just spoke to the SP ladies and they confirmed I will have my July instalment taken, as MB are like an oil tanker when it comes to changing direction, but all my instalments without an admin fee will be return in August. A full £288 savings it is :sneaky:
Hi there,

I'm new to the forum (& Mercedes) but am picking up a new Denin Blue A45S+PLUS tomorrow. Can anyone please advise on the service intervals? I will do approx 12,000 miles p/a. I heard somewhere on a video that rear diff oil needs changing at 3,000 miles - can anyone confirm this also?

Cheers,

Mad.

Picking up in Dartford by any chance ?

my car is in 10,000 PA and I’m told it’s every 12 months or 10,000 miles whichever is sooner.
I don’t know about the gearbox at 3,000 though.
Enjoy the car.

I haven't been told otherwise by MB that the rear diff oil change is at 3K miles. It was always at the same time as the service with my previous A45 and I am fairly sure it is the same on the A45s.

The rear diff oil needed changing at the first service and then each alternate service. I will double check and post if it's different to what I have said. I am confident @Skhm28 is correct in what he says.

Thanks Skhm28,

Dealer pretty much confirmed what you said, and no, car was ordered from an "up north" dealer due to reasonable discount but I've really enjoyed the drive back down south! The wife already hates the front passenger seat as it's a little too tight (crash diet required me thinks).

Hi Forrester,

Thanks for the information, think you're correct based on dealer chat this afternoon.

Did I read on an earlier post that you now have stage 1? I'm booked in with DMS in 2 weeks:).

Mad.

Hi I'm waiting on Brabus. I had one in my last A45 and will see what they come up with....eventually.

@Mad Chemist I responded in a rush yesterday. Please do say what the DMS spec is and also when you get it how you find it. The reason for Brabus for me is the warranty that comes with it for the engine.

Sure - will report back once done and hopefully, as I'm actually going to DMS for the re-map, before and after dynos too!

Many of us collected our cars nearly a year back and will hence have our service lights come on shortly. Can I ask are many of you going ahead with a service, assuming we can, or will you defer until lockdown finishes.

i will ask them if they will defer. I only have 1200 miles on my car after 6 months so hardly run in !! I'd expect them to shift at least 6 months if not a year.
As I have the service plan I do want to take it in if they are doing services but delaying by a couple of months wouldn't be a big deal either.

I received this email from them this morning.

Service items aren't purely mileage determined, hence why service is, for example: 12,000 miles OR 12 months, whichever occurs first.

For example, brake fluid is hygroscopic, so will start to absorb moisture from Day 1, hence why the change is 24 months, and not mileage dependent.

During the first lockdown, MBUK authorised a 1000 mile (or 1 month) deferment due to dealership workshops not being open, this time round, they are open, so very unlikely to do the same, plus if you have a service plan, this is both mileage/time limited, so if you don't complete all your 3 services in 3 years, that's it.

Good points about the 3 by 3.

I probably will get my first service done in March depending on the infection rates where I live.

Mine's due in March too but might go earlier if the Brabus tune is worthwhile and get it done at the same time. As I have the SP I haven't needed to ask a price but the garage I was speaking to about the tune, to gauge how long I would need to wait around in the freezing cold, said it doesn't need a diff oil change. Which on the first gen A45 was a 3hrs+ item. So if right it should keep the cost down.
