I have searched the forum for info. on Space saver spare wheels for the new A class and have not found anyone who can actually give detailed info. on how and where to buy them. Adopting the motto 'When all else fails read the manual' I have found tyre and wheel size info. for an Emergency spare wheel. Tyre T125/80 R17 99M. Wheel 3.5 B x 17 H2 ET 19.5
However, it also says that 'Apart from some country-specific variants, the vehicles are not supplied with an emergency spare wheel.'. I have asked my local motor factor to find a wheel for me and he came back with the same answer having spoken to his 'local contact' at Mercedes. Likewise I have googled every combination of wheel and tyre size and drawn a blank.
Like others, I am of the generation where you did not venture onto the road without a good spare, and I am willing to give up some boot space for the peace of mind.
So, as this is a truly Global forum, I wondered if anyone who has such an item supplied could let me know their country of origin, and/ordetailed info, (supplier, cost, website address) where they can be obtained.
