Hi folks:)

I have the audio 20 with standard speakers, I do listen a lot to house music, trance etc, and unfortunate not always happy with the sound, I should have ordered the Harman Kardon upgrade, that's for shure.

So my question is, do anyone know if it's possible to install a active sub in the sparewheel room? If I remoove the tyrefit stuff, I think there will be enough space to fit a sub, but then ofcourse I have to connect it to the speakers, or maybe there is a possibility to connect it to the receiver...

I've heard that this one is quite good:http://www.focal.com/en/plug-play/274-ibus-20-3544050750135.html

Any suggestions?

I have a standard audio system, today I have been playing cd's and listening to the radio and it was really, really good! I would try and listen to both systems before I parted with the money! Wikidcool!

I agree with you Lynne. There is a great sound out of the audio 20. Better than the upgraded system I had in the Audi a3!

Sorry to say Anzz, but I don't know what system I have! Is it still the Audio 20 with the Comand? I didn't notice! I was so intent on learning how to get it to function! Today was sun and Il Divo, what more could a woman want? Lol! Yours going well? Any hiccups? Like my door yesterday!

I've got Audio 20 and feel the quality of sound is as nearly the same as the BOSE sound I got on Nissan Murano.

Yes Lynne - you will still have the same speakers with COMAND as those of us with the Audio 20. Although your COMAND will probably give a better sound output than the standard Audio 20 head unit if its like my previous Merc.

So far as the sound quality and what we all think of it, I'd say its relative to a) what you are used to and b) if you are an audiophile.

Plus, we all hear things differently. What is tinny to some, is perfect to others and what is far too booming to one has depth to another.

Upgraded hi-fi systems tend to give much more depth and mid-range clarity than a standard speaker set up.

I wish I'd had the Harmon Kardon

Mon2s, as you say, it is our own perception of the sound! But I must add I am Welsh so we do have a natural musical ability, lol! If I heard the two systems back to back I would probably notice the difference, but as it is, I am happy with the sound quality in my car right now!

I've been looking at various subs whicb fit under seats or in spare wheel but can't find anything about how it would connect into audio20.
Does it support sub remote? And what outputs does it have on the rear to connect to a sub?
I've looked online but can't find input/output info.

I'm sure someone here has put a sub in so if you have any info that would be great!

A. That sub wont make much difference in your boot, they are more designed for Porches and the like with no room.

B. You can connect a sub but you would have to get a box which allows the existing Audio 20 unit to provided inputs/outputs for subs, amps etc.

C. Best thing to do is go and see a car audio specialist in your area.

ps. installing a sub wont make much difference to sound quality if you do not upgrade all the speakers in the car.
