I stayed up for you boys.. enjoy these two screenshots 😛👍🏽 Ps I like anything @SSM.. especially when I’m up at 6am for a 12 hour shift as a pharmacist!!
Also next thing you could try is the pre conditioning. See if it draws power from the house and not the car battery when it is plugged in to the CM. Everytime I use it its pulled from the car battery despite being plugged into the 3 pin. This knocks a few % and miles off the range before I've even got in the car. 👍

Mine does this too - my theory is that the heating takes up more power than the 3 pin can supply.

Today is car day for me!! Forecourt visit at lunch... Buzzing!! 😁

And keep up the good work, @SSM too. Huge admiration for all of you 👍🏻

@SSM I have just been out in mine - when sat stationary, the instant efficiency (MPG) reading changes to kwh/hour. With heating on it reads around 3.6kwh/h, but off it is only 0.6kwh/h. That suggests that the heater pulls around 3kwh, which is above the 2.3kwh the 3 pin charger out puts.

@SSM yeah I’m also NHS mate, community pharmacist though. You do a cracking job 👍🏽

Funny enough I also did a test with the preconditioning today, I was a bit disappointed that I got in and it was at 94% but the Mercedes app showed 100%. I thought it would charge the car back up whilst heating but it doesn’t. (It does when 3 pin socket is in place).

don’t think that’s BP’s fault though. One thing I will say is their app is useless. The car charged for about 1.5 hours but this is their reckoning:

I've tried pre-conditioning in my car while it's connected to a 7kw post, it doesn't appear to drain the battery but pulls from the post. Could be CM is different to a public charger though?

I wish it was possible to show that Charge State screen in the car at any time while charging and not just have it come up for a few minutes when the ignition is off.

I have to open/close the door to get it to reappear!

Unless anyone else has found how to do it?

As requested :) absolutely love it!!! First MB and a dream to drive so far. The cabin is a delight!! Come from a 220d. The engine sounds a little thrashy but I didn't expect anything else so I'm good with that.
So much to learn though. Any quick tips which might have caught you guys out would be welcome!? Any do and don'ts etc. Registered the app and wow there is a lot of services; just clicked the enable all.
My 2 seconds attempt at hey mercedes to call someone didn't go to plan but I'm putting that down as me for now.
First public charge will go down tomorrow I guess and a granny attempt.

Looks great! Check out Nick O'Leary on YouTube he has lots of MB tip videos. Tonde a member on here also has some great videos on YouTube. 👍
Nice one. I sure will now 😁
Just a quicky in regards to public charging etc. Hoping Scotland isn't any different to good ole Yorkshire. Have you all signed up for all the EV public charging companies separately i.e. got an account for each pump used. Shame there isn't one app to use em all but I know the EV is still yet to really blossom in our part of the world infrastructure wise. Anyway, if so, which companies and apps do I need please?

I use charge charge your car, polar, pod point and zap map for finding them. I'm in Scotland so the charge your car one let's u charge for free lots of places. You can buy the card for £20 or use the app for free. 👌

Also by pressing the home button in the streering wheel will active the charge state screen while ign is off.

It's not because of the schedule though is it? Assuming you turned that off to try? Have to ask haha. Bit gutted myself if that's the case!!
Schedule was set to turn off by 4.30am though, so doubt that would be the case. Good idea though, on Sunday I will turn the schedule off, then turn pre conditioned heating on and get back to you. Not working tomorrow so I'm not going to be up to test it... but I might get bored so you Never know!

Okay guys, so I've deleted my schedule fully and turned on the pre conditioned heating through the Mercedes app.

It still takes it from the battery in the car and doesn't start charging the car up again. Any ideas? I'll try it properly when I have more time tonight

I have purchased a new cable capable of 7.4kw - should arrive at some point next week. I will head straight to my local Tesco with a PodPoint and find out if my slow charging was cable-related all along.

It's difficult to keep track of what has already been said in the various multiple threads on this, so excuse any duplication. May I ask did you guys get a grant for the charge points and if so did the grant application go through the contractor to claim and offset automatically for you or did you have to apply separately yourselves.

Also there was a discussion around locking the charge point. I assume that's quite easy especially done where it is being installed on a drive, parking space or carport.
