Not the same car, but I have an A200 and had to replace the front tyres (Pirelli’s, from factory) after 1 year and 11,000 miles. Never had a new car eat through tyres so fast, and I’m not a wild driver.

 

The rear tyres on my A200 are wearing on the outside too. I have a feeling they were swapped from the front, rotated at some stage. Mine has only 11,500 miles on it from new (68 plate).

 

Get the tracking checked

 

My A35 had excessive front inboard wear. The alignment was out and I had it corrected after the tyres were replaced.

 

A220 here with 10k miles, all wearing perfectly (AMG Line 18") with the Khumos.
Cant measure any wear on any of them so expecting the usual 40k from the fronts.

 

Mine's just in for its first service and I've got a bit of extra wear on the inside which are down to 4.2mm after 9K miles. Seems high, but then again, assume its the price to pay for putting all that power through front tyres???

 

Bought my first ever new car October 24 a Mercedes A class and have just had its first service.

Im a very low mileage user (2000 pa) so was very surprised at the the tyre and brake wear reported.

Tread at 5.8 front 6 rear (-30%) and brakes pads at -20%

At this per annum wear rate from new it looks to be very expensive motoring compared to all my former vehicles. Ive had over 25000 miles out of tyres without even trying on previous vehicles.

On the AMG models - anywhere between 6000 and 9000 miles if you’re lucky.

 

Maybe a stupid question, but what do those numbers mean?
Here in DK we are calculating in cm.

 

Mm tread depth across the tyre. At new i was told they start around 7-8 mm.
