What oil do I need

My A35 is on 13K miles and I've only used Castrol Edge 5W30 M for all services. This is a slightly thicker oil than 0W30 and I haven't had any engine issues, neither have I needed any top ups between services. I also own a gen 1 Porsche 997 and these cars have a widespread known fault with cylinder bore scoring. Hartech are one of the most respected engine specialists in the country, who have also designed and developed industry leading solutions to this issue. Porsche also specify a 0W30 oil for these cars, but Hartech who have rebuilt hundreds of these engines, recommend a thicker oil of at least 10W50 viscosity. Obviously our engines are different, but the principle of not using oil that's as thin as water is what should be of concern, when it's flowing through and coating engine parts.
You know 5W30 and 0W30 are same thickness right? (in HOT ÂşC). not in COLD.

10W its to much but we can use too. (for cold start)

THe best oil u can use its 0W50. but i don't know if there is any 229.XX in 0W50. so....

Remember this cars are ready to use 0W20 so... 10W makes no sense. and its a lot worst.

And M260 engines can use: 229.51, 229.52, 229.61, 229.71 & 229.72 (this is new so many cars maybe don't appear but yes we can use it too).

And yes u can put a 10WXX but i will not recomend, but it's my own opinion/recomendation you can do what you want ofc. :)

So what's the difference between these?

Both are M-B 229.52

Is the "Professional" worth the small extra?

I bought my sub 15K miles 2019 A35 in the knowledge the head could go. Anything at all that might mitigate it will be welcome. I am only running Tesco Momentum fuel. No more Morrisons for me!
Yes, in my opinion i will buy the Professional one.

I have tried to research the correct oil to get as a top up for my 2019 A35 but I am having problems.

Dealer carried out 4th year service slightly early as part of the deal which included the transmission service. Electronic service record states Shell Helix 0/30, however it does not state which sub type. I believe there are several of these, some using different esters (mineral or synth etc) What should I buy? This really isn't good for my OCD !
I will use 0W30 next month, first 3 years i was using 5w30 but i want to test if 0w works better with specification 229.52 too.

You can use 0w20 if u want too 229.71/72.

I would stick to the thicker grade 5W30. With all the head failures, it's better to have a little thicker oil. I've used 5W30 Castrol Edge, mercedes version, from the beginning on my A35 AMG.
I dont like castrol, 1rst time and 2nd i put OEM Mercedes 5w30 (229.51/52) (on the OS), 3rd in my home Petronas + Orlen Combo of 229.51 and now (next month) i will put the Mobil 1 Esp 0W30 (229.52)

its same THICKNESS 0W30 and 5W30 with the difference COLD CAR 0W will lubricate the engine better (because 0W reaches before the mechanical parts) than the 5W but at 100ÂşC the tickness will be the same.

For example i saw this weekend the HYPERCARS of LEMANS uses 0W50. And the recomended for A45s its 0w20 229.72 we can use that too.

PD: for what i have been researching if the engine allows 0W its the better u can put and then depends on your country its best put 20, 30 or 40. but the 0W its very important.
