Connect wirelessly to your factory Carplay in your Audi, VW, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo or Porsche vehicle what was not possible before. Wired Android auto module inside. Convert wired CarPlay connection to the wireless one!
Yes, you need to have CarPlay activated first before the wireless CarPlay dongle will work.
My June 2018 a200 has it activated. You just need to get the free FU2 update installed by your dealer and then you can select Smartphone Integration from the store app on the MBUX. It’s a paid service though. I think I had to pay £299 for it here in the U.K.
I contacted my local dealer and the techs via the Mercedes me app and I was told it wasn’t available on my car. I’ve got 10” screens with argumented sat nav.
Techs sometimes make mistakes. Can you confirm that you got the software updated? As in you got a store icon on your MBUX system.
Cause what I'm told is that all initial production cars support Carplay or android auto after a certain software version.
Best to contact them and ask them. Car2play have said none of there adapters work with usb c connection. The regular car link adapter on amazon won’t work with usb c either.
Looks like we’ve both had different responses, I contacted Carlinkit on aliexpress and also a seller on eBay who said it worked. Shouldn’t be to long till I have the kit so I’ll let you know
That’s what I was told by the dealership. But the support on the Mercedes me app told me too get mbux upgraded and by the dealership and I have it working now.
