A180 Oil Change

Hi all,

My A180 diesel is due a service, but looking at the list of jobs that they plan to do, it seems like a glorified oil change (a bit steep at £611).
I’ve changed the oil in various other cars before and am generally competent with a spanner, is there anything special about the A180 that would stop me doing it myself here? Can’t seem to find any information about it anywhere online!

Any tips?

Yeah, at last resort I’ll take out a service plan. Do you know if you can sign up if your service is already due?
More importantly though, does anyone know the technical details of the oil change? If it’s as simple as a drain and filter change, I’ll save myself the money and just do it, but I read something about more modern Mercedes needing the oil to be suctioned out.
