Having just purchased an A class 200 AMG, have noticed there is no badge to be seen on the outside of the car. Only on inside carpets!
Should there be one? If not where can I get one or any advice?

No, it's not an 'AMG' and should not have the badge, it'll be an AMG line or engineered by AMG etc, using the brand to sell cars, A45 is the only A class that is an AMG and has the badge. My neighbour was sold their Diesel as an AMG and had to get the badge fitted, saying we had the 'same car'

You can purchase an AGM badge and add it at your leisure! There is no law against it. I haven't done it, but many people have. It's your car afterall! Enjoy!

BTW the EngbyAMG was the forerunner of the A45, which could be purchased from June 2013. With the options it cost about the same too. Edited by: Lynne

no law against it, you're right, but it's right up there with M badges on every BMW, it does make me giggle, be proud of what you love, why try to make it look like something it's not?

It comes with AMG mats and AMG wheels, has an AMG bodykit and is sold as an AMG sport/line so if the owner wants an AMG badge on the back then crack on I say, personally though I think it should only have the badges the factory fitted.

My car is 5 yrs old on 10th April, is as purchased. I have added a footrest, carbon- works mudflaps, Alloygators also changed the little wheel badges. But it has only the original Sports badges. I love it as it is! I am interested in the latest model and will test drive it when one is available. It will have to be fantastic for me to change mine. There is only 18,000 miles on the clock! Mint condition with all the options.

that's made me laugh, I remember when the original A series (W176) was launched, all "the" AMG owners (C63 upwards)in uproar about the A45 getting an AMG badge let alone any other A Class daring to have one stuck on

it doesn't bother me tbh BUT would never stick a badge on a car to make out its something it isn't, only the A45/GLA45/CLA45 are the "rea"l AMG models within this range

As above the BMW market is littered with M badges for MLine design only and Audi use SLine too, mine is an Mlite and hence classed officially as an M235i but makes me chuckle when you see for example a 420d with an M badge on it because it simply has a style pack

it is a very contentious area but all about the owner and there decision but its possibly not the best route to take actually adding an after market badge as it is NOT THERE for a reason

As always, do what you like. For all who seeing this logo know already at first sight if it's a real AMG or not.

For me in my own project, i've had long thoughts before the placement of the small (customized) AMG logo in my front grille, because i know a AMG badge putting on a non-AMG is a no go. Believe me, seen all and on my formerly Scirocco i've had a R-Line OEM front but customized the R-logo to APR Logo (which was installed) just to let see it's something different .. not a real R :)

Since my car could be configured with option the original AMG Performance Seats, in which there is a AMG Logo, and rebuild the rear and front to 80% AMG, decided to put the logo in. When people ask, i answer no it's not a real AMG and still today very nice responses. This is because of all the details i've put in, working on now and are in progress.

Nevertheless i still have some idea's to change this badge to a custom AMG Line logo, or remove it just for my own peace of mind.

Last week i've met a real A45 driver on a gas-station and both real respect and he understood why it's there seeiing it overall and the story behind it.

I've got leather sports seats, Jon. They are very comfortable and secure. They were an option on the EngbyAMG which, at the time, was the only car with the diamond grill.
