So I still need to install my dashcam since getting the car. In my previous 1 series there was a handy 12v outlet under the glove box but it doesn't seem the A Class as the same accessibility so just wondering where the best place would be to pick up a feed and make a piggy back connection.

Hi
I will be installing a dashcam into my new W177 when it arrives and I will be powering it from a Blackvue parking mode battery ( which will be hardwired to the fuse box in the passenger footwell ).

How much room is there underneath the passenger seat? The battery is about 40mm high.

Thanks

Hey everyone, I got a NextBase 522GW installed in a W177 using a permanent live so I could make use of the parking mode. My power stays live which is great but sometimes the camera decides to not bother turning off and seems to be in a loop of about 5 mins where it records a protected video and then for another 4 mins it records normal video, this just carries on and on until I catch it and pull the camera.

Anyone else?

I've seen a few threads with similar issues on dashcamtalk.com but no real solutions apart from not using parking mode and going to an ignition live instead.

Hi I am finally getting round to fitting my Next base dashcam to my Mercedes A250e, I have tried using fuse 125 or 124 that are both empty, tried with the piggyback fuse both ways round and can not get any power to the dashcam when the ignition is on? The piggy back fuse has a single 2amp fuse in it from when I removed it from my A220 (A176) does it need an additional fuse for some reason? Am I doing something stupidly wrong? (probably) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

I have a 2019 W177.

Last week I had a Dashcam hard wired in. It was done by a good lad who usually knows his stuff.

However, the adblue system warning light came on not long after.

Long story short, the car didn’t like the fuse he piggybacked onto. We have since sorted this by piggybacking onto the radio fuse.

Just something I thought other members may find useful.
