Hi,

I am new to this but in need of desperate help as our dealer isn’t the most proactive with issues. Issue 5 since buying the car in Nov 19.

Last night we drove the car, no problems - we get in the car today and even on 1 bar of sound, there is a deafening muffled sound coming from the rear passenger speaker. Whether it is the radio, Bluetooth, anything that is volume controlled is deafening. And as I am writing this forum, the sound is now stuck on!!!

Any help would be appreciated.
Regards

Jordan.

I know this is an old post, but I would like to share some tips that may be useful to people who are also facing this problem and looking for a simple solution.

Based on my experience, these are the steps you should consider:

  • Inspect the speaker: Look for any visible signs of damage like tears or cracks.
  • Test the speaker: Replace the problematic speaker with another from your car. If the issue follows the speaker, it's likely the speaker itself is defective.
  • Check wiring: Loose connections or damaged wires can cause such problems.
  • Audio system settings: The problem could be due to improperly set equalizer settings.
  • Seek professional help: If the problem persists, consider seeking help from a different dealer or an audio specialist.
Additionally, I've found this comprehensive article on muffled speakers and potential fixes that you might find helpful: Why Do My Speakers Sound Muffled & How to Fix It Fast [2023].

@Royalty51- that’s a very generic post. Can you share your specific experience with the problem experienced by the OP please?

In particular, do you not think this might be a MBUX issue rather than the speaker component being faulty?
