Also another misconception is that the instrument cluster is part of the MBUX update, however the instrument cluster is a totally different system (infact the control unit for it sits under the front left seat).
I suspect most of us don't really know exactly what the MBUX includes or excludes. I would have assumed Infotainment inc radio, USB, Internet, ACP/AA, SatNav, Phone, Office, Bluetooth, Voice Commands, Profiles etc and you are right I would have assumed that this included the drivers display as well.
Presumably though within the MBUX there are sub modules such as SatNav, Maps, Infotainment etc that are updated OTA where as the MBUX itself is not sadly although reading this article is seems that MB think it is 🤣

Probably just Marketing not understanding what Technical have told them 🤣
