Not sure if I should say this, but if you bought the premium, with keyless. You could of unplugged the keyless module (normally in the boot).

that would of left only the standard press button on remote to unlock... but give you all the other features..

 

The key fobs have security against relay attacks anyway...

 

Depending on your car specs, you could just swap out the door modules. Thus removing any functionally of the keyless entry all doors. If you're interested I got a set of door modules without keyless entry, and would love to get one with keyless entry. If the options are similar then we can strike a deal! (PM me if you're interested)

Just purchased my V177 that comes with the standard small dual screen display and I want to install the big dual screen display.
Does anybody know if the wiring loom remains the same and if I will need coding to install it?

Will require some form of coding, wiring loom would be the same if I recall correctly.
(Past models used the same wiring loom for all the screens)

But have to verify that in teilekatalog

Also keep in mind that the screens are going for 1k+. Less then 1k new ain't always be OEM or is from Lithuania (Lithuania has some good prices for Benz parts)

Also I have found it on eBay for 800GPB which is a fair price.
The main issue is the coding, I am from Greece and I don't think that dealers know how to activate it.

Teilekatalog is the new EPC where you can see the parts for Mercedes vehicles. (Dealer backoffice)

I would just buy the screen and see if its plug-and-play, It could be. But with the S-class it required coding to get the digital gauges to work.
That being said some dealers know how to activate it, else they will have to look into WIS or contact Daimler.

800GPB is I think a fair price, don't know the current listing price in Euro.

I will buy the CLA with the small screens as the widescreens will cost more than 4.000 Euros since it will take the price of the car to a higher tax bracket.

i dont think anyone has made the jump yet - the issue appears to be uncertainty over re-coding. I reckon once someone figures it out the ebay ones will be a total free for all

 

The keyless is disabled by double tapping the lock button. It has to be done each time but is an easy way around it.

As said before it requires a new display and control module and lot's of coding.

Can't tell you about any prices, but I would suggest to contact him if you're in the area of the Netherlands.

They do not have a retrofit for the Screen, and also they do not have a retrofit for the Ambient lightning.

I have no idea what happens if you order from MB the dual screen as a replacement part. Would it be plug and play?

 

I got the 10.25" screen but i asked EKKA if they can do it if you provide them the parts. They're unable to do it.

As all colleagues know that to order a full dual 2 x 10.25inch display the Premium option is required
Because for security reasons I did not want the KEYLESS-ENTRY option which is in the Premium option together with the 10.25 "instrument cluster. I chose the Executive option with 10.25 "media display only.
Finally, I have a 7 " cluster and media display 10.25"
I suggested in Mercedes that I will pay for the entire Premium option but without the Keyless-Entry assembly.
Unfortunately, although in the rest of the world option 7 "or 10.25 " is as a separate one but in the UK it is in the package.
Either everything or nothing.
Is it possible to change / reprogram the display 7 "to 10.25" when interfering with the software or the whole cluster instrument plus media display needs to be replaced.
Somebody mentioned something about some codes.
What is going on .
However, is there any hope of getting two 10.25 displays indicating that I already have one.
I will be obligated for help and suggestions. :smile_big::smile_big:

Hi, was this done remotely do you know ? Im wanting to upgrade my cluster screen to the 10" , my navi screen is already the large option (executive). Do you know what the cost is please ?

 

I don’t know if 7 is touch screen as the 10 is, but check into that as well as all the features the 10 has over the 7 by googling, then determine if more mods coding etc is required
