I ordered an A250e AMG line premium plus saloon in march last year, due to be delivered tomorrow. I received the below declaration to sign from Mercedes a few weeks ago.
No mention of the electric seats being withdrawn, just the sound system which isn't the 'end of the world', wireless charging which I'm not bothered about and the hands free access. Will let you know what is missing when I get it.....
"You will be aware from recent media articles that there is a global shortage of semiconductors, which are used
within almost all electronic devices and equipment and are, of course, an essential part of car manufacturing.
Within cars, microchips are embedded within the electronic control units that regulate things like, driving
dynamics, comfort and assistance features.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created an erratic and unforeseen surge in global demand for consumer products like
mobile phones, tablets, computers, and playstations, and the supply of semiconductors cannot meet the global
demand. Within our industry this has resulted in restricted availability of some control units and, unfortunately,
your car is one of those affected.
At present, we are not able to offer the following equipment for your car:
Hands Free Access, Mid Line Sound, Wireless Charging
By signing the below you confirm that you agree to proceed with the order and take delivery of the car on the
above basis.
Please contact us if you have additional questions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Kind regards,
