Got gearbox off but bloody subframe is in way and the steering rack bolts spin, someone give me a heads up im mobile so cars in bits on a road. Feel awful if I can't get subframe off n need to get engine out, nothing online about these cars didn't think it would be that hard to remove a subframe Jeez thanks.

Sounds rough! Steering rack bolts spinning is a classic pain—sometimes they’re seized or rounded off, making them a nightmare to loosen. For the subframe, make sure all bolts and brackets are fully undone—sometimes there’s hidden ones under brackets or around the sway bar links. If the bolts spin, try using some penetrating oil, and maybe tighten them first to break any corrosion before loosening. Also, locking pliers or a bolt extractor might help hold or remove stubborn bolts. Take your time, and don’t force it too much to avoid damage. If the subframe won’t budge, pulling the engine might be easier, but definitely a last resort. Hang in there—you’ll get it!

Nice one I appreciate the reply, sorted it now removed the steering rack bolts, dropped right side of subframe like you said. Was just enough to get gearbox in on a trolley jack. Supposedly can't be done without a lift that's why there's nothing on Internet about them, but it's deffo do able way easier on a lift probably. Thanks for the support job in total took me 10 hours got there in end 😂👌
