Yeh my car went in running with the engine management light on and blowing white smoke. It wasn't even running bad when it went in either.

I can only assume it was the right injector going off my registration plate.
This is what I'm thinking too, I don't think they've programmed it in after fitting it. They said there was air in the fuel system so they took the tank off and pressurised the tank again (I assume it's got to be highly pressurised due to the pump??)

I will ring the garage again and ask for the diagnostic prints and get them on here (if they have them)

It's a 2013 cdi 2.2 engine, when an injector is fitted, is it easy for the garage to reprogramme them?

So the garage have said they've tried programming the injectors but didn't do anything.

Sorry, yes they meant the fuel tank.

They've said they've had the ECU reset by a specialist now so hopefully when they put it back together it'll be up and running.

No mention of supplying the diagnosis prints so I assume they don't have them.

Am I being fobbed off do you think?

Personally it definitely doesn't sound right,

You cant pressurise the fuel tank as it has a valve to allow it to breath, also even if you did pressurise the tank it wouldn't achieve anything at all for any fault apart from confirming if the purge was blocked.

Reset the ECU? How do you do that and why? Definitely a new one on me!

They said it was an injector fault.....

We don't need to read too much into this, they haven't got a clue haha...

I would ask them when it is likely to be fixed, and make sure you only pay the original estimate of repair unless you agreed to additional costs at any point.

Because I'm worried that your going to be paying for their misdiagnosis of time and parts as well third party costs by the sounds of it.

If they cant answer when it will be fixed its because they still don't know the fault or what they have done wrong..... It went in running and now doesn't..... See where I am going with this?

Then it might be worth mentioning that you want it to go to an MB dealer or independent as you need the vehicle back.....

Update...
So I've spoken to mercedes who has said pretty much the same as you.
When I said about the ECU being reset, mercedes didn't understand why they would want to do that.
So, having had the ECU supposedly reset, the car still doesn't start...the garage have now said the injectors are all stuck shut.
They have taken the car to another garage with the mercedes diagnostic software and they're saying the injector AMP is reading 40 which is double what it should be.
Another week on and I've still not heard anything.

Any more advice what this could now be?

No, they've now taken all the injectors out and taken them to a diesel specialist.

Hi all, just an update on this issue.
Basically, when the new injector was fitted the garage didn't have the right computer software to do the bleeding operation.
The issue has now been resolved and the car is now running....bill wise....they're not charging me for misdiagnosis thankfully otherwise they would have had a small claims open against them!
