I had a massive detour in Newcastle a couple of days ago that added around 12 miles onto my trip going through the city and god knows where I was instead of going round the outskirts, another command it couldn't manage to understand was find alternative route. Haydon Bride is closed and for the next ten minutes it just said turn around and head back that way. I think I will be relying on my google maps from now on. The GLA without the MBUK system was fine so it must be that

Yeah MBUX should allow voice command for alternative route. It's dangerous to fiddle with the screen at speed, and if this happens in a motorway, you can't just stop. I got this as well, where there's a massive traffic jam on the motorway that the TMC didn't show yet, got off the motorway, but the routing keeps wanting me to turn around again.

Whilst I like the system (I find it pretty and easily understood/viewed), it has been poor in directing me to the correct final destination (be that using a full address from a contact or voice commands) and and has chosen very poor routing (such as on/off a motorway/dual carriageway, or directing you a very silly route). However, the routes I have use when avoiding motorway were pretty nice, which I like.

I have another thread on here discussing this, which degenerated into a don't use postcode debate, but was not the intent of that post (albeit my feeling is 6 digit Postcodes in the UK are reasonably accurate for a populated area).

I messed around with Apple car play last week. Selected Google maps and changed the view to satellite. Was full google earth on the screen. Couldn’t work out how to get it to show on drivers screen though. Dont think you can unless anyone knows differently.

I have a 2023 A Class 250e and I am unable to revert the maps from satellite view to normal view. I have looked in the navigation settings and there is no radio button to turn off satellite view on the Sat Nav. I have tried a voice command to turn it off and it says hiding satellite maps but it does not change the view. How do I turn this off? I have the latest version of MBUX.

Thanks for the screenshot, I’d seen this on YouTube but mine doesn’t have this radio button as I say. It’s all up to date download wise and no pending over the air updates. I’ve reset MBUX and it’s reverted back to the normal map view but it’s strange that I don’t have the Satellite maps option, except for using voice activation as I said earlier. I’ll draft a couple of paragraphs to Mercedes Customer services and see what they suggest. It’s probably a software bug. If I get to the bottom of it, I’ll post the resolution in case someone else encounters the same issue. Thanks for your help bytheway.

Sorry, remind me which radio button you mean? 🤔
At least the reset put it back to normal map!
Yours is Premium Plus, so I would've thought you'd have all the features, where as mine is Premium. 🤷🏼‍♂️
Hopefully customer services get back to you asap, they might know more compared with if you were to ask at your local dealership. (although no harm in asking them anyway).

It’s the “Satellite Map” radio toggle which seems to be missing from my Navigation settings. Yours shows this on your screen shot, with “ weather” being the second entry. Looks like, from my research, that it’s all linked to the Mercedes Me on line system and others have lost access or had issues similar to me. It’s inevitably a software glitch as I’m sure it was there previously. I’ll give it a few days to see if it sorts it self out, and then if not, I’ll contact MB for assistance. Thanks again

I have tried the satellite view, to be honest you’re not missing much, it’s pretty mediocre not as clear as the google maps satellite view in apple car play. My system is the NGT 7, I stay with the stock view now as I find it much clearer.

I just wanted to give an update on this as I dropped my car into Mercedes. It transpires that there was an outstanding update for the satnav (NTG 7) My satellite view is now working perfectly, and the toggle button is now available in satnav view settings in addition to using your voice. Mercedes had put my car onto their STAR system, which apparently showed that it was missing the update. Whilst it was in the garage, they updated the power steering recall too, so all is well. Thank you to all those who had responded, much appreciated.

Thanks for the update.

To help others in the future - could you post the NTG7 software version you are now on please?

And a bonus would be a pic of satellite view on NTG7 :)
