It appears that in FL models, only the A45s+ gets Burmester.
The A35P and A35P+ gets the Advanced Sound System

From the MY803.5 (Dec 2022 onwards) FL brochure:

(Don't worry, I'm sure there will be a 'special edition' along where they throw everything at it including paint and stripes, just before production ends, as a last gasp effort in order to sell more cars) :)

Hi All,

New to the group, as I've just purchased a 2023 A35 Premium Plus, so apologies if this question's already been answered or if it's in the wrong format or thread. Anyway, the above is really helpful as I've read a lot of the comments on here about the woeful sound systems that Mercedes put in their A35's. Looking at the above, it appears that we have the 'advanced' sound system................I was pretty convinced it was, as it's not terrible but it's certainly lacklustre. My real question is whether anyone has ever upgraded either the 'standard' or 'advanced' system in their A Class to the Burmester? I appreciate that there's a lot of people on here who will be groaning at the mention of the 'B' word but I'm really looking for as near to a plug-and-play solution as I can get. Also, while my wife loves here 'sounds' in the car, she's nowhere near as picky as I am, so the Burmester will be fine, possibly with the addition of an Audison Prima active subin the boot/trunk to boost bass. Since buying the car a couple of weeks ago, I've had a good hunt on the net, particularly on sites like ebay and I see that you can get new or used Burmester speakers, amps and grille covers. I'm just wondering if anyone has made the upgrade and if it's a simple case of unplugging the multi-pin connectors from your old equipment and then plugging in the new equipment, obviously appreciating that the Burmester has a few more speakers, which I can site quite easily and discreetly? Also, are the EQ settings on MBUX different for Burmester or is still just Bass, Mid and Treble and does the 'head unit' need any sort of software flash? Any comments or guidance would be very much appreciated.

Generally, the Burmester system in the A Class is not thought of highly at all either. So prob not a worthwhile upgrade. If you do a search for ‘Burmester’ on the forum you will find similar tales of woe.

It won’t be plug and play either, there will be coding needed not only for the config, but also to interface with MBUX etc otherwise you won’t have the controls.

If you’re considering an upgrade anyway, you might as well go for

I'm quite happy with the top of the line MB system in my A45s. I agree it's not the last word in car stereos but the car itself is quite a loud environment anyway, with its constant piped soundtrack. So I'm happy with what I have ✌
