OK, I'll have to find a solid white line (other than adjacent to a ditch!) somewhere, but I see now there are two different functions - Active Lane Change Assist and Active Steering Assist. My manual says 'Active Steering Assist has a limited steering torque for lateral guidance. In some cases, the steering intervention is not sufficient to keep the vehicle in the lane or drive through exits'. Illogically it's in a different part of the MBUX - Lane in Assistance and Steering in Quick Access, and whilst I have Lane I don't have Steering, probably in the part of Distronic that the original owner didn't buy along with adaptive cruise control.

Got my ex demo a220d this week.

Slowly learning the good and the bad.

No dip stick. What? I know it’s on the computer though

I get lot of flat tyres on country roads. So I’ve got a space saver. But I see that unlike on a golf there is no sill for a Jack to fit to.

There looks to be a hole for a block to fit in to. I can see the adaptors that fit into these on ebay. The block fits into the hole and is circular underneath. What type of scissor Jack would fit these adaptors? Is it the old style mercedes jacks?

Of course, if you get your car serviced by mercedes they will provide roadside assistance. Jeez, they do try and keep you on their pay.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The adaptors are flat underneath so really designed for a trolley jack, rather than a scissor jack (aka Widow Maker).

If you’re really set on a scissor jack then I recommend calling into a M-B dealership to get the part number of the official jack supplied in other markets - they have a rectangular section at the top which fits inside the jacking point so that it doesn’t slip off.

Why coolant temperature is on a driver's Service screen as is engine oil level, and not with oil temperature on the MBUX Vehicle Engine screen when there is clearly space for it on the left, is a mystery.

I think we are just supposed to drive the car and leave everything to Mercedes…

I drive with the speedometer on the main screen. I guess most people do. But MPG is also important. This would easily fit on this display.

No keyless entry on AMG line? I bought the car. So I appreciate when people use PCP then it’s “only an extra £x per month”. Good business decisions by Mercedes but I’ll be going back to Audi in 3 years.

No service book. “Just leave all that to us”.

The Golf 7 gave me both dials plus consumption info between them, whereas on this there is only one 'dial' (original owner was obviously a cheap-skate ...) and if I want to see consumption all I get is digital speed when even the smaller display is big enough to get more than that in. It isn't as if the data that is displayed is in a large font because it isn't (bar the speed) and there is a lot of empty space. But the 'speedo' screen which is nothing more than a pointer (plus digital speed which is on all the trip screens including the analogue speedo ...) and even more empty space is really scraping the barrel to come up with eight trip screen functions.

However with snow over three frost this morning this A-Class has much more grip than the Golf did, that was far too easy to invoke ABS even in the wet. Probably poor choice of tyres by the PO.

I'm a complete idiot when it comes to technology. I want to play music from my Galaxy phone through my car speakers. Can anyone explain in simple terms how I do it? A250e AMG 2020.

If your phone is paired to MBUX press the media button on the centre console then the Bluetooth tab on the MBUX screen 👍

Hi Guys.

I've picked up my A-Class today, love it, and drives great - but I've got a few questions I need help with.

1. I've got the 10.25 and 7" screens. How do I get rid of the G-Force meter and just have a normal-looking dial on the driver screen?

Think I've sorted this via the Themes options - is there a map option if you only have the 7 inch for the driver's display?

2. I really struggled to get the diesel fuel nozzle into the car - there's some sort of anti-filling mechanism. Admittedly the nozzle I used at the garage was well worn but it took a serious bit of fighting - is likely to be the car or pump nozzle?

Just tried at another garage and seemed fine - so maybe a dodgy nozzle?

3. Carplay - the garage I brought it from said it had it - turns out it hasn't but they've agreed to pay the ÂŁ300 for me to buy it and add it. I can't do this right away though because...

4. The previous owner has left herself fully logged in and so I can't access any of the advanced features - Because I can see her contact details - I've messaged her - because Mercedes said the only other option is a trip into the main dealer to sort - which is a decent trek from me.

5. I also tried to update the software and got a battery not sufficiently charged warning - is this likely due to it being out of daily use at the garage?

Sorted this after going for a good run - though couldn't see any difference in all truth - what is the current version everyone else is using?

Appreciate any help you can provide.

Try a full system reset?

Try sitting in the car and pressing the Me button overhead and ask them to help

Having been reading the forum for a bit in anticipation of collection, the Me button was the first thing I tried. They confirmed that if the car is still attached to an account, the only option is a main dealer reset and that the software reset option within the settings would not remove the previous user. 🤷‍♂️

I just use a microfiber cloth, no detergents. Works perfectly and removes all fingerprints.

Hi peeps, picked up my A200 (69) on Tuesday, loving the car so far. Got a few questions for ya tho!

1 My rear washer jet is not spraying out any water, and I noticed today that when I attempt to use it the drivers far left nozzle bubbles a bit, I’m thinking either blocked jet or maybe a little too up

2 My stop start has not worked since I picked the car up. My battery voltage on mbux reads at 14.9 and is showing partially charged in the app. So do you think I need a new battery?
