Will all A-classes have traction control, or just some??

 

I'm pretty sure all A-Class has traction control.

 

So how can we turn it off on an A180??

if you haven't got the button then if available at all will be in the settings menu

 

as Jon said it is available through the settings menu

i vaguelyrememberseeing an option and thinking "i best not turn that off!" lol, i'll check when i finish work.

 

Arrow "right " on left hand side of steering wheel, arrow across to "assist" click "ok" then click "esp" then "ok" to turn it off, even with esp off the car still has traction to some
Point which is annoying, is there a way to stop this ?

 

Hi Matt, Yeah got there in the end, turned it off and wheel spin galore. However I know that turning traction control off is not actually Fully off. There's no option to turn it off completely.

Nice dry day...and I thought I'd have a spin on my A200 with traction control off for the first time. I noticed 2 things. With traction control off, the rev limiter deactivates so you can rev to red line at stationery point! Also, launching the car at around 5k rev gets my car 0-60 to 7 seconds! A second faster than what's on paper (8 seconds). Looks like I'm gonna turn off my ESP from now on. Might need to invest in some new tyres soon though!

 

How did u launch at 5,000 rpm is there a launch control option on the a250 or something to get me off the line quicker ?

 

I just manually did it. Rev at 5k with the clutch down then let off the clutch. Control your wheel spin!

 

As far as I know, when someone deactivates the ESP from the setting menu, same is not fully deactivated but partially only.

However there is a 'secret' menu, so you have to press at the same time the 'call' button on the right side of the steeing wheel and the 'OK' button on the left side.


Then you enter into a engineering menu, where among other info, you can see an option of 'rolling'. This option actually is supposed to be activated while car on dyno and in my understanding it actually deactivates ESP 100%.


If someone tries above please let us know if works and relevant experience gained.
