Just took a look around under the car and drivers side under tray has a crack in it.

I was looking for damage after going over a speed bump slowly, but I believe that caught the leading edge of my diffuser. It was just a slight noise and I was going exceptionally slowly!

Sun in my eyes and stupidly large speed bump into pot hole. Classic combo!

Anyway, is this undertray part that expensive? I used to be able to get part numbers. Of my VAG cars, but u just can’t find anything with this car :-( I must be looking in the wrong places ?

I saw other posts saying it isn’t generally expensive, just wondering if there were any ball park figures ?

Also how do I find part numbers without calling the dealer?

I looked on the original vid I got them to video under the car for purchase, that was already damaged, it was very hard to see but it was there. So it’s fairly solid, but I just don’t like things like that. And rather it didn’t get wind under it and slowly rip itself off!

I repaired an undertray on a sshhhh bmw successfully with fibreglass. Cheap repair kit from amazon, just make sure everything is degreased, clean and roughened up before applying resin and glass mat. Mine has been in place for at least 2 years with no ill effect.
I was thinking about plastic weld after posting, so fibre glass is a good shout. I will call MB and get a price from service team tomorrow on the part. Weigh things up :)

still not sure exactly what bit crunched, even if lightly! Eugh 😢

I managed to use a parts company (that has diagrams) to find the exact part number.

Looks like I can get it for £125 delivered from Germany, part is £80. That gives me a benchmark and comparison.

Used that company before to repair my Audi in the past 🤗

So DIY repair, DIY replace or just ask MB to swap on next service, unless their pricing is a joke.

I will just have to decide if it’s really needed, MOT was today and they said it’s structurally sound and not a big issue (which I know)

Same time, not a huge cost / simple fix 👍
