The three hours on the invoice is the "allotted time" the work is expected to take. Not the actual time it takes. The cost is based on the allotted time.

In reality, it was probably in the workshop for about 90 minutes (give or take 15 minutes). Given that the dealership has done a number of these now you'd expect them to become more accustomed, and proficient, to performing the work hence the time taken is less than allotted.

Took it in today for the battery replacement and my "unofficial" oil change and took a few pics of the flex disc. That plate on the right does look like some kind of heat shield but not sure if it's different? Either way, like I said, no flex disc recalls, which I already knew as nobody has called or sent me anything, but I asked today and the answer is no. They too said it might have been market specific, or the VIN range that we got here is outside the recalled range. But honestly? Given the very low volume of M139 cars in the country, the odds were rather in my favor.

My service today, with battery replacement.

I asked them for an underside video, but I cannot really make out the flex plate for sure. But I get the impression it seems bigger than the later models. In "Idle Chit Chat" I started a thread about our past cars and there is a flex plate recall on a later 2020 built A45s. It seems to be pre-pandemic built cars are not being recalled yet.

It came up your car is affected.
Replace rear axle disk, install additional screening plate.
All booked in at Canterbury, no charge

This is what I was saying on the other thread. You guys have had your flex disc recall for a later 2020 A45s but my earlier 2020 A45s and @Theo hasn't. Something was changed. Anyway I will keep an eye on the recalls.

Thank you. When in 2021 was your car registered. My and @Theo are pre-pandemic 2020 A45s and have not been recalled.

Hi. I've just signed up to add my experience of this. Hope it helps.

I own a 2023 GLA 45 Amg. I took it for a service today and on collection was told it had also had the following done as part of a recall: Replace rear axle flex disk and install additional screening plate

I hadn't been made aware of this in advance.

On doing a quick search online I found this forum. Sorry for hijacking with a GLA!!

I also found the info in my attached image. Seems to be from America. I don't really understand it but those of you more technically minded may find it helpful.

Since purchasing second hand the car has suffered terrible crabbing. Mercedes told me this is standard for premium cars like Mercedes and that Audi and BMW do it too! I said if I wanted an Audi or BMW I'd have bought one of them instead! Mercedes advised me to replace the stock Continental run flats with seasonal tyres. So now I have Michelin summer and winter sets. Expensive. And no spare. Infuriating. I don't know if this recall will fix that. I doubt it.

I’m in Australia and I only heard about the recall late August of this yr, and only via a Facebook group.

No official notification from Mercedes here. I called and was told by the receptionist I should have received notification from Mercedes direct.

My car is a 385kw tuned 2024 A45s so anything relating to issues with driveshafts is of interest to me. Booked car in for the recall a week later and all good. Took about 3hrs in total.

Only issue, and it was related to the tech working on my car, was their failure to reconnect the power to the in car camera after disconnecting it! Wasn’t till a week later I found ot wasn’t connected! Had I been involved in a collision and needed the video to prove innocence I could have been in real trouble!
