Hello cowen1000

Have you managed to solve the problem? I’m in a similar one myself. I own a Spanish A250e in Portugal, the car was imported and registered here. The comfort internet data package doesn’t work.

Vodafone states the car APN has to be switched to Portugal and Mercedes dealer can’t do it. The dealer even said they spoke with Mercedes HQ (maybe not true but they said it) and apparently Mercedes does not allow a car to be change the market (Spain to Portugal).

If you managed to solve the problem, can you please list the steps?

TIA
The time might be off. If the time is off then it won't connect tot he MB servers. That was one of Cowen1000's problems if I recall. There is a function in Xentry or DTS Monaco for the HU6 module to correct the internal time against the laptop's time.

Thanks for the reply. However I don't think that's the problem. Apparently, according to Mercedes Portugal, the HQ does not allow the dealer to change the factory configuration of the car (to change it from the Spanish to the Portuguese market) so it can connect to the Portuguese APN from Vodafone.

If I have the step by step (which tools, where to click, what to change) I can try to ask a MB aftermarket coder here in Lisbon to do it for me.

It's very annoying, to avoid saying anything worse, that MB charged 93 euros for 36 months oh the entertainment package.
Yes, indeed I have the music streaming services enabled but MB says I have to use my phone data package, not the car's (which is included in the 93 euros I paid).

When I paid for it MB forgot to tell the part that I was subscribing it in Portugal but it wouldn't work due to the fact the car is spanish. But MB is denying a full refund or any kind of discount...

On top of that, despite the fact the car is connected to my phone hotspot, sometimes it defaults to the LTE car connection (so, no data) or worse, it forgets my phone hotspot password (so I have to insert it again, which is once again very very annoying).

Cheers

PS: all "regular" mercedes me services (check range, open/close doors, windows, sunroof, location, live traffic, map updates, etc) work perfectly, just the comfort data package doesn't. Vodafone says it's due to the portuguese data package contract and the car trying to connect to the spanish servers (APN or CSP)

I would contact the Commission. This must go against the operation of the single market. The speed at which these things happen won’t help you in time I’m sure, but will get MB and other car manufacturers to reconfigure their in car systems to be changeable by a dealer.
