Unfortunately our cars in this part of the world doesn't come with the GPF, so I won't be able to confirm that.

I only know if the check light is turned on and you notice some features like the burbles on downshift is gone, the power is definitely reduced as the ECU will be running on diagnostic maps and those maps are conservative and meant to allow the car to be able to be driven without making a lot of power and any other features will not be available.
No problem. I have already confirmed it for you. UK cars are fitted with GPF. there is no power loss when mine doesn’t pop and bang. It runs the same power. Or I should say there is no noticeable difference in power. I think you are talking about Limp mode? Which has never occur when I have remove the GPF

Oh no I'm so sorry maybe I wasn't being specific enough, my bad haha.

What I meant by reduced power is that the car will not be making full power like it should but it certainly won't be in limp mode. I totally get what you are saying, it happened to me too. When I noticed the pops and bangs are gone in my car but the car still pulls but there was no check light, so a scan later revealed a code hidden.

Another time it was gone too and there was a check light, but the car still pulls.

And the last time it came out, the car was in limp mode.

Some codes requires a few cycles to become permanent to trigger limp mode, some doesn't, and some just directly triggers it.

If it is in limp mode you'll know for sure because the wastegate will be fully opened and the car doesn't make boost at all and is sluggish.

The one that hit me and caused the limp mode was an underboost code (P0299), because the delta between the actual boost vs the boost requested by ecu was not within the range the ecu accepts.

Thanks for sharing this, for the non-OPF owners like me this is definitely something new I learned.

Hi guys, in new to this forum,

I have been reading through this thread as it is something I am looking into doing but I am also from the UK and I only have got one sensor on my downpipe and there was people from UK saying they have got the 2 sensors ? Would someone be able to tell me the as to why I might just have the one sensor? ( Attached photo )

Thanks in advance

I’ve only got one on my 2021.

Finally got around to decatting my downpipe, however the engine light is on continually and there are no pops and bangs. My car has two additional sensors, how do I get around to getting rid of these engine light which is due to the OPF filter?

If you are running an aftermarket downpipe, it is advisable to get a tuner to supress the related check lights, even if you're not looking to tune your car.

I didn't get an aftermarket exhaust, just an ASR controller (exhaust valve module), so I can keep the valve in open position with a flick of a button. Exhaust note is a bit better than stock since our car are non OPF. But I'm thinking about the Akrapovic titanium Catback, not sure if I can use my exisiting ASR controller with this exhaust or I need to fit their sound kit to control the valve.
Hello brother Just asking m, will the asr valve controller harm the car by any means Waiting for your response

Yeah I've been following this guy. I wish I could hear it in person. The pops and bangs sound a lot more aggressive but I'm not sure whether the engine tone is aggressive enough for me. If your car has the extra temp sensor are you just stuck for now downpipe wise? Seems Miltek is out of the question if you have the extra sensor.

Had a res delete done and the sound is mildly improved, pops from the exhaust are slightly louder and more frequent, otherwise little difference. Does anyone know what the back box modification is that pcw does? Or details of a modification that would increase the sound further? Thanks

I’m going to see Paul on the 19th April for mine to be done. For £300 odd I don’t think you can go wrong, unless the exhaust falls off.

I've just read through this entire thread. Am I right in thinking that no one has managed to install a sports cat downpipe (removing gpf) without a warning light coming on? I would go for the miltek sports downpipe and sod the rest of my warranty but I have 2 temp sensors.

Welcome to the forum. Hopefully @Turbo Ed and @fatty45 will get back to you on your questions. @Turbo Ed is currently in communications blackout which will be lifted in the next couple of weeks, when he’s back in Australia.
