I’m curious how this one will be. Do double check if they also provide a USB-C to AUX. Because if it doesn’t then all the audio of the interface goes through Bluetooth. Which initially might sound good but when having calls will incur massive delays which are unwanted.

I do not unfortunately. I looked at multiple different ones but the ones that run android are definitely not recommended. See the OG post.

As long as it’s a Linux based interface, it should be mostly good.

Ah! It could still be good, but I do expect a loss in audio quality if you use wireless CarPlay combined with the interface transmitting bluetooth to MBUX. And a considerable delay.

But that is just from speculation. Let me know if you eventually do buy it. I'm really curious how that interface will compare to the one I have installed.

I have had a look around and can only find the adapter being sold for €40-€50+ and that’s not even the USB-C kind. I’m unsure where they source it from as I also can’t find it anywhere on AliExpress.

also can you tell me where to plug it in and how did you install it under the centre console had a little look around today and i have no clue how to put it under there

I don’t think those will work. As MBUX needs to be tricked to think it’s playing from a USB. It does not detect normal AUX.

Regarding where to place the interface. When you lift up the whole center console, there will be a big gap somewhere near the front storage underneath. That’s where I placed mine.

Ahh on what the benefits for aux compare to Bluetooth will it make the CarPlay or the original mbux system

@Exorth out of interest, when you play music, can it show the cover art etc on the Mercedes dashboard display like it would normally? Of does the Aux to USB trick mean that the car just thinks it's playing the dummy file (and thus, not show anything else on the dashboard)?
