Unless I’m being a little stupid, I can’t see which fuse is for the glovebox light...

its the Garmin 55 plus it needs a permeant live so it can record even when the car is parked up it can take a snap shot if some hits the car if it detects a sudden movment like someone running it to the car or someone jumping onr the car , it has a voltage drop sensor on the lead so if you leave the car for a long period ie holiday it will turn off if the car voltage drops below 11.5 volts

Ok so if I was to use fuse 125 which is empty at present, is that a medium size fuse?

As I've already ran my Garmin power cable (Mini USB with Cigarette lighter connector) to the centre console area I'd rather leave it in place, and ideally not butcher that cable as well so I was planning on using these two parts together;

I assume this will be an ok route to take?

It was all going so well. Started the car for the first time afternoon installing this and now the engine management light has come on.

Anyway to find out what’s causing it.

The car seems to be running properly and all systems are working as normal

Thats very weird, maybe you pulled a fuse out whilst ignition is on? If putting everything back to normal does not fix the problem then you know its something else.
I recommend every car owner to keep a OBD scanner handy, buy online for about ÂŁ20...saves a trip to the dealer and allows to google the code to help find a solution...
Sorry, couldn't be of more help...

Not that I recall as I just went onto a spare slot with the piggy back fuse holder and then made the ground connection.

I’ll get hold of an OBD reader and go from there.

What's your car Southwestwall.
I have a W176 A200 and am waiting for MB UK and my dealer to get organised with the A35, or maybe an 250 4MATIC if that doesn't pan out.

Ok so I got hold of an ODB reader, connected to the car and the engine management light has gone without actually doing anything. Not sure if it’s just a coincidence or the device actually clearered something as part of the intitial diagnosis scan.

It did give me some control module options which I don’t have a clue as to what they mean and the readers instructions are a little light!

Also got a Mercedes Me Connect limited services message pop up now - any idea what this is about before I go looking in the manual?

This is my first post, joined the site to get some advice on the correct fuse location to use.

This is my first time playing with a mercedes but does anyone else not think its a little strange and over the top that the fuse box lid is held in place with 4 torx bolts? It's definitely not a road side job when you blow your fuse for your front lights is it!

Thanks for the info though, will be fitting to 125 this morning.
