The s/s I think starts working above 6c? I note your photo shows just 6c. I would wait for it to be warmer and then see. Somebody else can perhaps confirm the start temperature.
that would be good to know, I'm very tempted to just replace both the main battery and the aux battery seeing as they are both ( assumption coming on here :D ) 9 years old, and most other threads have stated changing the battery(s) resolved the problem.

Looks like i could get both batteries for the cost of the diagnostic cost from Mercedes :D

Just need to work out where the batteries are now ( Google Time ) plus im very much not mechanically minded so I'll have to find someone to fit them too

My start/stop works fine in freezing temperatures, but it takes a longer time before it´s activated as it is affected by a lot of things. Start / Stop NOT WORKING on your car?
I'm thinking I'll just replace both the main and AUX batteries and fingers crossed that resolves the issue, if not well I've got 2 brand new batteries :D

Just need to make sure those above in my previous post are the correct size, the EK131 AUX is defo the right one just need to check the main

Thanks I was wondering about that O’Leary tricks and tips video.

I had a fully charged battery with the car oil and gearbox oil both in the white and had no s/s. Temperature was 3.5c 🤷‍♂️

I replaced my original 8 year old main battery and the stop/start began working so you may not need the auxiliary battery changing. I find the stop/start annoying so have programmed it out following instructions on this site. MB are con merchants with their diagnostic charges. I dont trust the rear parking sensors and rely on the rear camera.

Get a decent code reader

It´s mainly when my Aircon "struggles" to heat/cool the car it won't activate start/stop. However, in the winter is a bit worse, I also have a Diesel so the engine takes a bit longer to warm up.

I used a thinkdiag to code out my stop/start and I also have an autel diagnostic for reading fault codes. Neither of them were particularly expensive and work on a variety of cars. I have used them on MB a & c class, jag ipace, nissan leaf, bmw 1 series, vauxhall insignia and seat ateca.

Basically the families cars and although they wont always read the codes on some of the older cars they have always enabled the codes to be deleted.

Mercedes have done a full diagnostic on the car and it’s the aux battery has failed which they have said is why the start / stop does not to work.

Having a new battery fitted in the morning, fingers crossed nothing else is going to be an issue as I’ve got Autologics retrofitting Dab tomorrow afternoon

Got the start stop fixed yesterday / today by Mercedes picked up the car this morning to find this when I got home ( Bare I mind the car is scratch free both inside and out ) the panel isn’t even fitted properly ( look at the door trim.

Mat Automobile pedal Carbon fibers Synthetic rubber

I was livid to put it politely, back to Mercedes I go and kindly asked the service manager what have they done to my car.

He politely said look I don’t want to lose a customer so I will order a brand new trim and fit it FOC when it comes in.

Bear in mind I hoover this car on a daily basis and because of my OCD i wipe down all the trims after each use using I2 GTechniq ( Yes I know is this massive but overkill but it’s something I have to do ) so it was there yesterday morning before I took it too them..

Anyways..

I’m in shock I have no idea how and what’s gone on here except at a guess one of the mechanics either snapped my one taking it out or they wanted a nice clean scratch free panel for their own car replacing mine with theirs.. ( Slander I know 😂 )

UNBELIEVEABLE ! Rant Over for now

On the flip side Autologics fitted my DAB tuner and programmed the sensors to beep which is rather nice - there work was faultless and I have upgraded the maps to the latest version too ( haven’t tested just yet )

Tomorrow I’ll give it good outside clean to see if my friends at Mercedes have scratched or damaged any of the bodywork

God this sounds like a soap opera, at least I’m entertaining you lot 😂

Has anyone noticed when it rains that the boot catch ( the metal U shape ) fills up with water so when you open the boot you get showered on as the plastic trim on the boot lid is also wet ?

This had water in it

when the boot was opened the waterfall of water appeared to come from the centre of the boot where the lock is ( unclear as I cannot get much out of the wife whether the water came from the lock it’self or elsewhere
