Got an e-mail from Mercedes yesterday that a new map update is out. Enjoy.

My apps expire 15/4/23. While I will renew, it'll be interesting to see if the updates auto download so close to my time being up 🤷‍♂️:giggle:

At the end of the update, MBUX writes: restart the system. If you have done that, you have installed the latest update/map.

Doubt it wrote that it uninstalled the last update, mine also came with an error/warning when I removed the usb. If you look at map versions, you can see the latest ones further down the list.
A bit strange that it is not at the top of the list..

As far as I know you can always install the update again if you are not sure.
As long as the usb is in the car, it will say there is a map update even though it is updated.

My package included the following so I assume you lose over air updates if you don’t renew:

Excellence Package
12 services
• Geofencing
• Vehicle Tracker
• Theft notification and parking damage detection
• Remote Vehicle Finder
• Car-to-X Communication
• Live Traffic Information
• Valet Parking and Curfew Minder
• Remote Window Control
• Online Map Update
• Personalisation
• Remote Door Locking and Unlocking
• Parked Vehicle Locator

I wonder why MB would make the map updates permanent yet offer a navigation option to buy.

This was the option:

Navigation Package

3 services

•Car-to-X Communication
•Live Traffic Information
•Online Map Update

I find this quite bizarre, in that you have to buy the above package, which allows online updates for maps, but I used to download the maps myself using the Mercedes software on my PC and upload it to the car using a USB drive. It seems as though you need this paid service in order to keep your maps updated regardless of the method by which you do it.

No everything expired in January 23. I have updated the Navigation from the portal via USB so I think that is why the MBUX system is showing v18.0, where as the OTA shows v17.0. I also find OTA too slow, which is why I download via USB. If I decide to sign up again, I will go for the 2 year option whlist they have the 15% off deal until end of June. Still expensive though at ÂŁ237 for 2 years. Mercedes certainly know how to charge!

Yes, mine shows 18/9/23 map update on the app but with the notification coming through 22/9/23, after a 40 minute drive that the update had happened.

In the Mercedes App it states that there is an update available (2023 V20.0) - When I start the car and go to System -> Software Update, it says there are no software updates available. In the Navigation map data menu, I do not see the 2023 V20.0 version for the Netherlands. Only the V19.0.

When I try to manually install through the website + USB stick, it states that The Netherlands is already up-to-date to V20.0, so I cannot select it to manually update. Not that I use the navigation of the car as I use CarPlay. But still quite weird. Any suggestions?

When I try to manually update just the region it states it already has V20 installed (which is not the case) - so I cannot install just the region for the Netherlands. Only thing that I can see working is if I install the whole map. But then I need to go and buy a new USB stick because it's 36GB of data. My USB is 32GB.

May was the last one for my A45s. My wife's A200 April 2024 build did a sync update yesterday but I can't see what that was on the MMe app, so probably not a map update.

In the first place, you have to pay to get access to download updates. If you pay, the car will also install the latest update itself (however, it´s faster if you download it yourself and install it in the car)

You just log in to ME Mercedes ME (In the country you are associated with) and see it under your profile/dashboard
