Looking at the Mercedes Me Portal, it appears I have had two OTA updates installed to the infotainment system in the last few weeks - see below. No idea what was updated, I can't see anything different, but since a few days the system appears to have forgotten my home location. I use this a lot on the navigation system, and typically I would say "Hey Mercedes, drive me home", it would give me two options (no idea where it was pulling them from) and it would navigate home. But since a few days it insists no home location has been set, while it certainly has, and it also does the predictive "silent" navigation to the some location.

Anyone else had this issue?

I seem to remember that I went into MBUX under updates and clicked on the one that was ready, had to approve it before it started installing.

The update itself is not of great importance, however I would consider updating MBUX if you are on an early FUP (1-2) as an update can unlock additional options/purchases. Do you know which FUP you are on?

How do I tell what version of FUP I am on? There are definitely no Updates showing as "pending" in the head unit, only on the ap. Could there be a problem with the OTA module in the vehicle that needs to be investigated? I sometimes get low battery warnings in the ap (but not in the car itself)... I saw an earlier thread that said a weak battery can prevent OTA downloads, so should I get that checked too?

I can’t imagine after such a length of time you guys are in line for it. Perhaps your software already covers the functionality of the update.

This was their original response,

We are pleased to inform you that your vehicle meets the eligibility criteria for the update.
The update will be released over the course of the specified timeframe.

We apologize for the lack of a precise release date, but rest assured it will be communicated as soon as it is available. However, as the vehicle is enrolled for the campaign, the update will be announced on the Mercedes-Benz app and your MBUX multimedia system.
We are pleased to inform you that no issues have been identified regarding your vehicle and software. In response to your enquiry, we regret to inform you that we are unable to provide a standard timeframe for the completion of the update at this time.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

A fairly generic response.

The main update for non plugin A Class versions seems to be this.

I wonder if the A45s already has it.

It's a joke how bad Mrecedes are at updating their software. Or rather the will to do so.
There are many options to update and fine-tune/add new options, but they don't make any money on that so they don't do it.
New options are intended for new cars, a sad development when the "old" ones support some of those options.

Got a response back today,

Thank you for contacting Mercedes-Benz on 19.05.2025, regarding your vehicle's software update.

Kindly be advised that, while the vehicle is eligible for the MBUX version 2.6.1, the update will become available within the next few months. As updates are deployed in bulk/waves, we are regrettably unable to provide an exact date of when it will reach your vehicle.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We appreciate your patience and understanding on this matter.

In other words just go away and you may just get this update just before the next update release lol

The FL A45s is at the top of the FL food chain yet you guys are not being treated as such. Unless as I said you already have the functionalities.

So went to the dealer today and got them to update the software in my car, seems like they were able to update it to 2.6.1 (Or E505 according to the infotainment). Unsure what was wrong with OTA for me, but I’m putting it down to MB Australia.

I have the new sound drive thing, seems like a bit of a gimmick but can confirm it is available for my A200 Sedan (2024 model).

MB and their MBUX updates will forever confuse me I think

How did you confirm you have it. My wife's A200 is meant to have it as well, I think.

My 2020 pre FL A45S has wanted to update the software since I got it in July 2024 but it’s never showing on MBUX when I’m in the car.

It’s the ‘this update optimised the way in which the Live Taffic service updates your active navigation during driving……’

It flags on the Mercedes app but it just never shows in the car? Any ideas?

I've had exactly the same issue since last August too...been backwards and forwards with MB support over the months to no avail...this is their last comment:

Thank you for contacting Mercedes-Benz on 06.06.2025, about the Software Update.

Let me kindly inform you that our colleagues in the technical department have communicated that there is currently no over-the-air software campaign available for the vehicle.

You can disregard the current notification visible in the Mercedes-Benz app informing about an available update. The communication was sent due to an issue and there was no over-the-air update that has now ended for your vehicle.

If you wish to update the MBUX multimedia system software, you may visit an authorized Mercedes-Benz workshop and obtain the software update to FUP4 (Fresh-Up4) which contains the enhancement requested.

Please note that a manual update performed at a workshop will not remove or update the notification in the app. This behavior is expected, as the Mercedes-Benz app only reflects OTA (over-the-air) campaigns and does not synchronize with manual updates performed at a dealership. Therefore, if no OTA (over-the-air) campaign has been received, the update will continue to appear as "not installed" in the app.

Again, apologies for the inconvenience this might have caused you and thank you for your cooperation.

We remain at your disposal!

However, I still think there may be an issue with my OTA download module as I have still not received the latest UK map update that was flagged by email on 3 August...anyone else still waiting for this?
