Looking at the Mercedes Me Portal, it appears I have had two OTA updates installed to the infotainment system in the last few weeks - see below. No idea what was updated, I can't see anything different, but since a few days the system appears to have forgotten my home location. I use this a lot on the navigation system, and typically I would say "Hey Mercedes, drive me home", it would give me two options (no idea where it was pulling them from) and it would navigate home. But since a few days it insists no home location has been set, while it certainly has, and it also does the predictive "silent" navigation to the some location.

Anyone else had this issue?

I can’t see it yet for my A45s but will probably not download again. My wife’s FL A200 is showing up to date.

When my update came it said I had to approve it on MBUX. Went into MBUX during sorftware updates and there it was, approved it where after it said I had to turn off the car before it would download.
After it started downloading I was able to start the car again and drive.
However, my screen was black during the download (MBUX only) this is despite it saying you can use the system during the update..

The update took approx. 20 min.

I just had this installed as I was sitting in the car ignition off but the other systems were on. The message came up to agree the T&Cs. Scrolled down agreed them and the update happened with the music turned off. Quite efficient.

Mercedes A180 SE 2018

I received notification both in the Mercedes Me app and on the in vehicle MBUX display that there is a software update available for my navigation system. This is not a map update but one which improves the live traffic feature to avoid delay and incidents. To initiate this update the MBUX display requires that the ignition is switched off and the parking brake applied. Once this is done I'm stuck because an error message appears telling me that the update cannot proceed because the battery level is insufficient. The battery is charging during driving, the car has never failed to start nor shown any sign of failure. This seems quite ridiculous because all I need to do is accept the terms and conditions, the update will then install itself whilst I am driving.
Having got little sense out of Mercedes Support I took the vehicle to my local Mercedes dealer who performed a diagnostic test which completed stating that there was a fault with the battery which came as a surprise. The dealership asked if I would like a new battery fitted to which I replied no. In addition to the £100 for the diagnostic test I was quoted £285 for the fitting of anew battery. A fault maybe but the battery seems fine and I find it ridiculous that I would pay almost £400 effectively for a software update.
Can anyone recommend a way around this without having to buy a new battery? When the battery goes, I'll replace it but for now it seems stupid to do so.

Connect a battery charger to the car and charge the battery, then try the update.

If it’s the original battery from 2018, then it’s probably due a replacement, as the SOH is way below what is needed for functions other than starting the car.

This is a contentious issue, as traditional batteries in older cars tended to last years before needed replacement. However, it’s a common issue afflicting ‘modern’ cars - the ability to start the car is no longer a good indicator of battery health on its own, as EFB and AGM type batteries have much lower internal resistance so cold cranking will always be good. However, the battery SOH will no longer be up to supporting other functions (eg Start/Stop). See:

Out of interest (and slightly off topic) have you managed to get a download of the free Infotainment system update that "optimises way Live Traffic updates..." I have ben seeing the message that this exists for months now, but it never seems to download OTA and I presume there isn't an easy way to get it manually like there is for map updates?
No. It's still showing not installed. I'm not going to spend £150 for a dealer installation and then dealing with any bugs that throws up.

No clue about how to share it. But I have a gremlin in the sat nav on wife’s A200 24 reg. I try and input my home postcode orally and the response comes back “I can’t help you with that”. So I then have to ask Siri 🙄

Im not sure the shared route option is available on the A class. I see it listed in my digital extras but can’t enable it, I’ve asked the Mercedes team, just waiting for info on how to enable it or for them to confirm it’s not available on the a class (with NTG7 running update 2.6.1)

Just received an MB email for my wife’s A200 for the 2.6 update. No 1 on the end. We’ll see what comes with it.

I received my email 30th April and downloaded it the next day. Even if you are not using your car much you should receive the email.

You , and I assume @steve_3939, are two weeks behind my wife’s car. Regardless of MB saying it will be rolled out over time, I would hit the MMe button in the car and ask them when you might expect it.

Hey all, I'm asking how often are OTA updates for MB? I have a W177 A200 Sedan here in Australia, bought it new 12 months ago and since then I've had no updates. In the infotainment it says version RL_NTG7_E330.602. Maps are also from 2023 with no new options there (have checked on the MB portal too)
Dealer also says there's no updates but they also said to me that updates aren't OTA and MB don't do updates...

Just want to make sure nothing is wrong with my car and it's just a waiting game, or whether there's something wrong. I know Australia has issues with a lot of the Mercedes me stuff not working like it does overseas too.

Thanks in advance!

The following message (albeit with a new date every few days) has been constantly showing in my Mercedes phone ap ever since I bought my 2020 B class with MBUX 6 10 months ago.

I have had a long dialogue with MB support about why it never downloads OTA. This is their latest instalment:

Dear Mr John O'Dell,
I am writing to follow up on your enquiry received on 06.06.2025 concerning your Software Updates.

At this time, there is no over-the-air (OTA) software campaign available for your vehicle. As a result, you may disregard the notification currently visible in the Mercedes-Benz app indicating that an update is available.
If you wish to update the MBUX multimedia system software, you may visit an authorized Mercedes-Benz workshop, where you can request the software update to FUP4 (Fresh-Up4). This update includes the specific enhancements you have requested and will be applied manually by the dealership’s service team.
Please note that any manual software update performed at a workshop will not remove or update the notification in the Mercedes-Benz app. This is expected behavior, as the app only reflects OTA campaigns and does not synchronize with manual updates conducted at a dealership. Therefore, since no OTA campaign has been issued, the update will continue to appear as "not installed" in the app, even after it has been manually applied.
Additionally, we would like to inform you that any work performed at an authorized dealership may be subject to costs, depending on your vehicle’s warranty status and the policies of the respective Mercedes-Benz partner. We strongly recommend checking with your preferred workshop in advance to confirm any potential charges associated with the update.

As the car is still under warranty, is there any point in asking my service agent to update this manually? Anybody else had any success in curing this?

My 2020 A45s showed an update which wouldn’t download. I have posted about it. Personally I have no problem living without but was quoted £150 by my local MB garage for them to install it.
