Afternoon (UK time). I've had my A250e since March this year, not using it much at all as now working from home full time. In that time I've made 2 long, return journeys from north of Manchester to Boston, Lincs and Gloucester. MPG for both was excellent, only cost £25 on Gloucester run. My issue is that I probably only drive my car to shop and back, approx. 1 mile return, maybe 4 times a week. Charging battery now only yeilds ~17\18 miles @ 100%. Is this because I'm not using it on long runs i.e. to work and back a round trip of approx. 30 miles.

I've also had mine since March and as the weather has got warmer I've ended up getting better battery range.
The last couple days I've been working in Edinburgh which is 49 miles away from me and got 45 and 46 miles in electric each day on the way there. I'm then also getting 10-15 miles in electric on the journey home. The journey is a mix of A roads and motorway and I mostly use Eco mode.

What mode are you using?

My range certainly has gone up with the warmer weather. Hope it helps
Max range is stated by the car, average day temperature taken from MetOffice

Reading this with interest. Had my a520e one week. It arrived showing 44 miles on the electric battery charge. Ive done 74 miles in a week around town in comfort mode and used satnav once. I've used the ambient lighting too. Today for the first time I topped it up to 100% at a PodPoint and it only gave me 29 miles. This cost me £4.18 at a PodPoint, 1.5 hours of time and £6.20 for 2 cups off coffee to fill the boredom whilst waiting 😆. I'm beginning to wonder if the electric battery is even worth the effort at that kind of cost and time investment. Certainly doesn't feel worth investing £1000 having a home charger fitted 😞

Whilst driving an A250e as a loaner, I charged it from a decent quality RCD-protected outdoor style mains socket in the garage. It would happily pull 1.8 to 2 kW and would charge comfortably overnight.

If using a domestic socket, definitely make sure it is decent quality, heavy duty and RCD protected, has been well installed, with all the cables securely clamped in the terminals and making GOOD electrical contact.

If not it could be a top contender for starting an electrical fire. Poor quality and badly connected outlets can really create losses and generate loads of heat. So can extension reels, the longer the hotter and a massive bonus multiplier if still coiled on the reel.

A well installed heavy duty domestic outlet can happily deliver upwards of 2kW and is a fraction of the price of a home charger.

It managed the daily 40-mile commute on the battery quite comfortably, but instead of being inspired, that led to wondering at the pointlessness of providing free transport for several hundred kilos of engine bay contents.

There are quite a few reports from owners of various brands of EV’s and Hybrids - those that solely charge from a domestic 13A socket at 10A - over the long term - never get the same range compared to those who charge from say a 7kW dedicated charger.

Something about the battery chemistry not liking a “smaller” charge current long term.

Recently with AC off during all my use calculated range is up to 76km which works out to 47mi.

Ambient temperature is around 20 degrees.

Did the actual range remain at 76Kms fully charged? In my case last week the charge status was showing a maximum 100% reading of 82Kms when I started charging a fully depleted battery from a 3.7kw charger but the range kept gradually reducing to 65kms at 100% charge. Am wondering why such a material reduction in range occurs. Ambient temperature at 22c. :(

It remains constant and is indicated o. The display as well. This is an older photo hence the difference.

Noted with thanks. In my case, in the charge status of the app the maximum reading on the right side decreases gradually until the charging process is completed and it never remains constant. At times, the actual range in the display is higher than the one in the app!

Regardless of average range and habits, surely I should see a higher figure then 35-37. at the moment I have been driving with only the radio on, driving very conservatively ie. reading the road ahead as regards traffic movement and lights. I believe I should see at least 40-44 range on a full charge and then style of drive/road condition etc reflect the actual total mileage reading. When I travel to work (early hours in mornings) I encounter hardly any traffic Hardly using any breaking! i don’t understand why on a full charge I am not seeing a higher range then what I am.
Mine has an absolutely pathetic range of 18 miles fully charged, It's currently showing 8 miles at 47% and the temperature outside is 9.6 so not cold. I am going to take it to a dealer as the batteries must be knackered, it's a May 2021 model so pretty disappointing TBH

Are you charging with a 'proper' 7kW charger, or a 13A plug charger?

7KW, when I first got the car it always achieved 42 miles, it dipped to 38, then into the 20's and now below that. There's got to be something wrong somewhere - heres a photo from earlier

The only time I achieve 42 is on the charge after a relatively long journey of 50 miles or more but after 2 years of ownership I have decided that most of the time it seems to be totally random but it is, however, certainly lower in winter.

We have had our A250e for about eight months and usually achieve 70-76 kms[43.5-47 mls]on a full charge - not using air-conditioning.
The Mercedes Me app. usually shows a range of 45-65 kms when fully charged.
A few days ago I got this on my app.

I’m only getting 19 miles on a full charge maybe as it’s cold could be the problem, however I can do a 6 mile journey and it will only knock 2 miles off so really getting decent battery range . In the previous summer weather was getting a range on the clock of mid 40’s the car on a run does charge itself too so every 20 miles il get another 3 miles on electric only after they have ran out . I’m now charging it up on solar so it’s free to charge
