Hi guys,

I have a Jap import with mbux ntg6 but I am unable to change the region as the internet is not working..I clicked manually adjust time but only limited to 1 hour. Refer to pictures.

What can I do in this situation? It's a 2020 A35

Thanks in advance.

We have a few japanese A class here in the country. They all will need coding to change the region. and of course the radio as well since japanese radio are only up to 90'ish mhz only.

There is a service here that can re-code it, which also include carplay/android auto activation etc.

And MME doesn't seem to work.

UK car, however, MME works (once the VIN is cleared from last owner and were able to setup on MME).

I have an a-class imported from the Middle East to Europe. The nav map I have updated by a Europe map purchased from the dealer. This works except in the MME portal it is not visible for updates and I can't change it. Mercedes has never been keen to help with this issue.

For the internet connection I understood there is no easy or no solution to install a new local esim or connection to your phone. This is integrated into various parts (hermes module amongst others) and locked to prevent gray imports.

If someone knows anything differently I am also happy to hear.

Depends what you mean by Internet access. After the latest MBUX update you can use your phone for data instead of a data plan for MBUX apps that needed the data connection package. But that is different to the MMe services offered on the car. Those always only work through the communications module (HERMES). Coming to that one, HERMES has different hardware versions for different regions. I think it is possible to swap yours to a used ECE version, which should then allow connection to MB servers. The problem then becomes, the services you'd get will be linked to the car's VIN which is locked to the region it was intended for. As far as I know that cannot be changed, as that information resides on MB's systems.

If anyone has better information, happy to be corrected :p

Ok thanks! So first step forward might be an update of the mbux. Lets see if the deal is willing to do so... Funny is that they did a Hermes update a year ago which ended up in a notification that SOS is not available at every start and they couldn't remove it anymore. Anyway I knew there would be risks with taking the car with me back to Europe.

Did you ever get this sorted? I’m experiencing the exact same thing. Thanks!
